Deleting friends

Maybe I am the only one who experiences this. There have been a few friends on here who I would just as soon not have on my friend list. Is there a way to remove them? It seems I have seen something about it somewhere but cannot find it now. thank you.

I spoke with a lady on IM several days ago. After a few minutes, we exchanged numbers and began texting. I immediately put her number in my phone with her Xmatch name as the contact name. A little later, she told me her real name. We never referred to each other with first names in the next day or so. My phone only holds so many texts and just bumps them off my phone. After 2 or maybe 3 days. I was trying to remember her name and could not. I looked at my texts and it was already gone. We were supposed to meet tomorrow for dinner and maybe more. I humbly expressed my apologies and asked her name again. She did not reply. I asked her if she was upset and she said, "yep". She never answered me again. I am terrible at remembering names. I apologized profusely but no answer. I finally got her to answer my question of if she was done with me because I forgot her name. She said, "correct". My question is, "Would you have have been upset? I was pretty hurt because I had done everything I could to be careful and gentlemany. I thought she was special. Again, Would you have been upset?
