She calls to me softly...
I turn towards my name...

My eyes never leave her...
Like a moth to a flame...

SHE... is my Reason.
She makes life worthwhile.

As I walk towards her slowly...
At ME...
She does smile.

Wishing She Was You

I tend to meet them in the bar-rooms.
Then I sweet-talk them to my home.
That's exactly where I want them !
Just her and me,
Alone.

I start off with a little "Chitty-chat".
And maybe a beer or two.
But then my mind begins to wander....
And it wishes she was you.

So I dance them to the living-room.
We end up snuggled on the couch.
I send my hands on an expedition.
They go exploring,
North and south.

I'm getting what I've always dreamed of.
Something ... fresh and new.
So how come my mind still wanders ?
And wishes they were you.

Eventually we end up in the bed-room.
Everything's going just as planned!
Sometimes...
It's just THAT easy.
( I'm so GLAD, that I'm a man ! )

I'M THE KING OF THIS FUCKING CASTLE !
And every woman that comes through.
So why am I feeling so...
Empty ?
And keep wishing...
They were you.

The sex is wild and tasty.
I couldn't ask for more.
A girl that's young and beautiful,
And fucks me like a .

She's snuggled up SO sweetly.
Just stuck to me like glue.
So why aren't I feeling satisfied ?
Instead of wishing she was you.
.....

I was never that much of a boyfriend.
I cheated, and I lied.
Until the day you caught me.
And I had no place to hide.

I told you I didn't need you.
AND I DAMN WELL MEANT IT, TOO !
But now... I have to wonder.
Why AM I wishing....
They were you ?

Well, I'm living the life I asked for.
I'm as happy as a clam.
At least... I damn well SHOULD be.
( But I wonder if I am. )

When I told you I didn't love you...
Maybe that WASN'T necessarily true.
Cause I can't seem to stop from.....
THINKING !
And wishing......
They were you.

Written for another blogger on this site that I didn't even know. I was just browsing the *recent posts* and read her's by chance.

She was feeling bad because she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her, and she felt that she had to break up with him.
Her post was so sad. You could *hear* her tears in her writing.

This post affected me more than most do. It was a very touching post.

The next day at work I wrote the first half and thought I was done. But when I came home I felt that it needed something more, and wrote the last part before posting it. I also sent a copy to her blog.

She asked if men ever regret the things they do.

I wanted her to know that ... sometimes they do.

I guess I was getting in Ma's way, cause she told me to git. " Go on. Git going! " was how she put it exact. So that's what I did. I got myself gone.
Now, when Ma told me to git, I always figured that she just wanted me gone and gave no mind to where. So I took that as it was alright to go to Scrub's.

Ma usually didn't let me go to Scrub's on account of his Dad being dead and his Ma being busy with all those "Uncles" visiting. I told Ma that they were probably just there in mourning, and Ma started to giggle. Then she said "And afternoons and evenings, too! " which made no sense at all. Then she started that giggling again.
I hate that. Old ladies ain't supposed to giggle.
That just ain't right.

So I went to Scrubs an saw him sitting on the front curb eating tar off the road. I tried that once but I tend to swallow it, and it's no fun later, if'n you know what I mean. So Scrubs says " let's go down to the tracks ", cause that's where we're not supposed to go. Them's always the best places. Everyone knows that.

Usually we just put pennies on the rail and let the trains squash them good and proper. Heads up only. I'm not sure why, but that's a fact. But this time Scrubs had a whole roll of pennies. I told him that we could get us a hand full of candy with that but he says it don't matter none, cause Jake's will have to take them anyways, squashed or not, as they's legal timber, whatever that means.

Sounds about right so we put the roll on that there rail and tie it in place with some willow strips. We knows the 11:15 is about due so we sets down to wait. Soon enough we hear it a coming and Scrubs says " Hot damn! ". Scrubs is always saying " Hot damn ", even when it ain't worth it. But this time I'm kinda excited too and I says " Shit yeah! " and I don't say that for nothing!

Well, when that there train hit that roll of pennies, you'd a thought someone was shooting a shotgun at us.
Those pennies were flying past us could a killed us for sure. Two of old lady Wilson's windows busted out and one of Mr. Dunn's. Lots of houses got hit in all. That's a fact.

Well, we took off running and didn't go back there for three days. Mr. Dunn ain't one to mess with. Learned that lesson when we was little.

We never did find most them pennies. Only bout eight in all. I figure if'n we had bought the candy instead, it'd all be ate anyway, so it kinda was worth it in a way. That's what I'm thinking.

But still glad they wasn't my pennies.

I can tell just what you're thinkin'.
I can read it in your pants!
You're hopin' to score some lovin',
With just a "drinkie",
And a dance.

Just HOLD YOUR HORSES, Cowboy!
Let's just take us a little time.
Cause I'm lookin' for that MAGIC,
Or there ain't no use in tryin'!

You're lookin' like a keeper!
Just depends if you can wait.
This ain't like being at "Denny's",
Where it's five minutes on your plate!

I ain't no teeny-bopper,
I'm a woman in her prime!
I've played that game with you boys before,
And I've sure enjoyed my time.

I used to be a little easy,
Cause I like to have my fun.
But lately I've been feelin' lonely,
After all's been said and done.

In every woman's life there comes
A time to settle down.
Now I'm lookin' for someone...
Maybe,
Who won't mind just hangin' 'round.

I'm wantin' to find me someone
To watch movies on the couch.
And before you attack my panties,
You better first,
Attack my mouth!

So...
Kiss me like you mean it,
Or you can keep it in your jeans!
Cause if I AIN'T feelin' that lovin',
Then you'll just see me in your dreams!

The World According To GAP...

My heros have always been cowboys...... so sang Willie Nelson, and I can understand the sentiment completely.

MY heros weren't nessesarily cowboys, but they WERE... real men.

Men like Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, Robert Mitchum, Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Lee Marvin, Jack Palance, Lee VanCleef... and others of that caliber. These were men that you would never... EVER want pissed off at you.
Ernest Borgnine in "The Emporer Of The North" was one of the meanest characters you'll ever see on film. Robert Mitchum in "Cape Fear" WAS someone to be feared! Lee VanCleef [who went to my high-school] was a bad-ass in and out of the movies. Remember Kirk Douglas in "The Vikings"?
Charles Bronson... what a class act!
Jack Palance's smile is enough to make your balls tighten up.

These were men...
REAL men!
And they were my heros.

Still are... as Willie says.

Other actors of note that weren't QUITE in their catagory but were still real men were... Steve McQueen, Robet DeNiro, Clint Eastwood, Jack Nickleson, Robert Duval, Al Pachino, Bruce Dern, Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman, Humphrey Bogart, Dennis Hopper...
And we mustn't leave out Gregory Peck. TOTAL class!
Not a tough guy, but a man of his word!

Who do we have today as heros?

They seem to be not much more than pretty-boys anymore.
Leonardo DiCaprio? Please! Tom Cruise? Johnny Depp? I admit that they're pretty, but real men?

I think not.

Yes, we've always had our Rock Hudsons, Mongomery Cliffs, and James Deans, but they were the exception, not the rule.

You may mention Arnold Shwarzenegger, Sylvestor Stallone, Steven Segal, or Vin Diesel, but they still don't fit the bill. Oh, they're built alright. I'll give them THAT!
But they're just "Hollywood" tough guys. They can fight 12 men at once and win.
Right!
There wasn't any of that silly stuff, back then.

The times they are a-changing.

But I'm not sure I like the change much.
In fact... I know I don't.

I miss my heros.

Maybe once we tire of these pretty-boys, the real men will come back.

I think I'll wait.

I used to know a Cindy once,
A Sally,
And a Sue.
I knew them well, if you know what I mean.
And I'm pretty sure you do.

And then there was a Peggy once,
Who was really very sweet.
And how could I ever forget
Ann Marie,
Who was also pretty neat!

And Barbs,
Oh my!
What CAN I say...
Too many to keep track!
One had no car,
One had a Ford,
And one, a Cadillac.

There's been so many, I tend to forget!
( My favorite was probably Joan )
There's been so many,
So many,
And yet......
Here am I
Alone.

The husband was in a panic, the wife wasn't. " Are you sure that's all we need? ", he asked.
" Yes, dear, we have everything. Why don't you go warm up the car for me and I'll call the doctor and tell him we're on our way to the hospital now ."

It was going to be the Madison's first . When they got to the hospital, their doctor arrived at the same time.

" Almost ready, little lady? ", he asked.
" I think he's really anxious to get out! I might not be ready, but I think he is. "

Later, in the delivery room, the doctor reached in and gently helped with the baby's exit. When the baby was free, he held the up by the feet and sharply spanked the baby to start him breathing.

Blood immediately started running from the doctor's nose and was soon seeping out from both of his eyes and the corner of his mouth. The nurse quickly grabbed the .

Before he died, the doctor looked back at the baby in shock.

The baby was crying and his eyes were wide open in anger. He was staring directly at the doctor's face.

HE was here!

And nobody....
NOBODY....
Fucked with HIM!
