The storm rolled in while we were sleeping and pretty much shot its wad by the time we woke up in about mid-morning, leaving a ton of snow, burying everything in sight.
Fortunately our landlord rose to the occasion and cleared the walkway, stoop, driveway, both of our cars. He's not perfect by any means, but does come to our aid when we really need a hand; stove-up old people really appreciate the assistance!
My new friend was driving a snowplow up near Boston for a very long shift with his dog as company. Eighteen hours in a truck with bad heat performing a vital service to his community makes him a hero to me and many other people!
Long day ahead tomorrow for me; work, then a trip to Falmouth in my work-van for a TB test, back to the office to clock out, then home for a while, then my afternoon (short) shift, paint night with my wife for my birthday (Friday, we're celebrating early to beat the crowds), and finally bed late.
Good excuse for taking it easy this afternoon.
Still need to cut my hair and really thin my burgeoning beard out today, if possible, and finish my laundry in the frigid basement. I'm starting to look like a stunted Sasquatch!

Shaved my head, including my beard, but spared my mustache, which I've sported since 1978 when I was stationed in Germany. I do that periodically when my hair gets unruly because in fifteen minutes, the same amount of time it takes to drive to the salon, I can have an acceptable (to me, I'm NOT trying to impress anybody) job done using an ancient pair of hair clippers that formerly belonged to B's late husband. We FINALLY got that dresser assembled, working together, in around two hours after putting the job off for two or three weeks. Looks GOOD in our bedroom! Now it's time to get the new nightstands together and rearrange things there to be more comfortable for both of us. Both of my jackets were in the washer, now the dryer for an hour or so, along with tomorrow's work clothes being brought down to the Livingroom. All that's left is dinner, making my tea (unless I decide to treat myself at Dunkin on the way to work) and a nice hot shower before bed.
