How Big Really?

Who among us hasn’t at one time or another thought – “How big is THAT?” I’m a math and science type. I like numbers. But sometimes just seeing something gives a good enough idea. The first image in the comments is a good example of that. I’ll bet many of you ladies have had similar experiences – see the second image in the comments. But sometimes words are just so imprecise.

I had such an experience recently when booking hotel rooms. I’ve learned there are a LOT more terms for describing mattress sizes than I knew. I thought single, double, queen, and king covered it, but, OH NO, there are many more! One place even had rooms with what they called a “California Full” bed. WTF does that mean? Turning to the internet I found the third image in the comments. The accompanying text clearly describes a “California King” but since the place has (already fully booked) rooms with “King beds”, for more money that this one, I’m guessing that is not the size of the bed in this room.
