A Different Kind of Vinyl, on HNW

Unsurprisingly perhaps I don’t own any vinyl (PVC) clothing. 🤣 Neither do S or J apparently. (Yes, I asked them both. J claims to have some latex stuff that sounds intriguing though - information I’ve filed for another day!😁) Since that approach wasn’t working out, I had to take another path this week.
I’ve written before about how much I enjoy my subscription to Sirius XM satellite radio, especially when traveling. (But MAN OH MAN – not sure for how much longer I’ll keep it if they don’t quit jacking up the prices!) On short trips around town I mostly listen to the contemporary jazz feed. On my much longer cross-country trips I switch it all around between contemporary jazz, classic jazz, blues, rock/oldies, pop, and even occasionally country.
There are several rock/oldies feeds. Some are defined by a decade but others have more clever names. One is called Classic Rewind, from when most people listened to music on cassettes. To the point here today, another rock/oldies feed is called Classic Vinyl, from when most people listened to record albums. So my image today is a salute to classic vinyl – the record type.

I hardly ever listen to the radio. I’m good with not having anything to listen to when I’m driving. Or I’ll bring CDs with me
CDs are what I used to be my solution, but satellite radio provides more options and is less work.
I listen to local radio stations. I switch between classic, old rock and country.

I really appreciate not having to search for stations when traveling.
Hubs has satellite radio in his truck. I had it briefly when my car was new but didn't pay to extend it. I listen to books on my phone and podcasts in the vehicle most of the time. I like music with a good melody and lyrics I can sing along to... wide range of pop/ rock, country, etc. My dad had some 8 tracks but I was never much of a fan. 😆
You're too young to really have had the full 8-track experience.

I barely listen to the regular radio; certainly not satellite.
Over the years, I replaced my vinyl records with cassettes then replaced the cassettes with CDs. Now, all my CDs are transferred to thumb drives. I am mostly 60s & 70s rock but I listen to other genres as well. Classic 8-tracks would be the same as Classic vinyl for the most part.
The first car I purchased for myself was a 1976 VW Rabbit. I installed a combo AM/FM/8-track.
8-tracks, ha! That was one format I never had. Happy HNW!

@CleavageFan4U weren't they mostly used in cars? I didn't own a car until I was 25.
@smartasswoman Yes, though some hi-fi systems could play them too.

I don't listen to satellite radio. I listen to BBC Radio Five Live or Radio 4 if I want to get serious,
My favourite music genres are disco and punk/new wave though I like all sorts of music, including jazz.

@Alannah_cd True, but that I had to search and find them (as opposed to being able to understand them) says a lot about what kind of song it is.

Ha! Saw this shot in one of my FB photography groups and it reminded me of my shot last week - See a Friend Blow Me, on Bubbles HNW. But in this case, I think it really is a mirror, though a very carefully positioned one.
