Now that Cowboy is retired, activities are less demanding, more flexible. We prepare with regards to livestock and such.
The next few days are more of the same. Cook, eat, clean up, stitch fabric, ride my exercise bike, entertain the dogs, LOL.
I admire your dedication. The exercise bike I had years ago ended up being a towel drying rack.
I'm in CA...do I really need to be weather aware? I'm thinking it's less critical here.
Now back in MI where my daughter is going to school, they've had your predicted weather, I believe. School was closed for 3 days due to all the snow, temps in the negatives, worst ice storm on record, and a warning that trees could explode (I'd like to see at least one of those). And since I'm not necessarily very flexible, I might have trouble with how off your area's forecast was. But then again, I might just say, "Better safe than sorry." 🙃
Last night I heard the local state college would not be open today due to the sub-zero temperatures forecast for this morning. I'm not fan of them either, but REALLY??!! College aged kids can't be trusted to know how to survive in these temperatures? 🙂↔️ We're becoming a nation of weather wimps!
Traveling during typhoon season can be risky. I've been taking out insurance for non-refundable budget trips by air just in case there're any delays or cancellations in flights.
I used to live where we got hurricanes so I know very well the dangers. And yeah, they can mess up all kinds of things!
We're in a drought so I wish reality was closer to what was predicted so we won't be expected to voluntarily conserve water.
Our severe drought ended a few months ago, but it is getting drier and drier around her AGAIN.
The weather barely affects my plans. And if it does, I'm always flexible.
Travel weather sensitivity stems from the American car culture of driving everywhere.
As once explained to me ... Bad weather is caused by unstable systems and instability is difficult to predict.
I spent 4 winters driving to and from KCMO. I never had to change travel days because I paid attention to the weather.
Hummm, that first part sounds like something I say - A LOT!! 😂 (Learned that in my weather class in college.)
The other day I bookmarked the highway travel weather sites for all the pertinent states on my phone. Was all blank back then. NOT so today!!
I got such a kick out of the look on the woman's face at the lower right!
