Excellent post! I've long believed that the populace is being dumbed down to provide a long term source of labour to keep the billionaires in the position that they're clearly entitled to hold.
But revolutions last a fleeting few moments in history because our human frailty is played upon to lead us to forget the lessons. I'm not sure we'll be able to break that cycle before we destroy ourselves completely.
Oh, sorry for the gloomy outlook!
Well, Marie Antoinette ended up losing her head . . . literally . . .
@JN63JPN
I lost mine a long time since, in fact, probably around the same time as the good lady!!
Good
👍
Everything runs in cycles. I've read stories of how Europe's demand for cotton, tobacco, and YES, sugar, lead to the settlement, slavery, and the growing wealth of the Americas.
Looks like the US is in a vicious cycle now
@JN63JPN Haaa, it's much more rapid and disorienting than just your average vicious cycle.
I agree with you completely. It doesn't seem things will get better.
People erupting at town halls is a good sign, but it’s not enough, especially when there are those who think being under a dictatorship is better than having a president who’s not white or male.
I very much hope that those who are being manipulated or at least played wake up to the facts.
I don't have much hope for that. Why else would so many keep believing that trickle down economics work, even tho they're shown evidence that it isn't?
Hi! I'm amazed! I am exactly of the same opinion as you! And I've written about part of it throughout my usually long and convoluted posts. The part you quote about how they want to destroy education is impeccable because the ignorant are easier to control and manipulate... well, they have managed to destroy it. But seeing it written here in a much clearer and more concise way has really impressed me.
This post of yours is one I'm going to save and use as a reference: both for myself and for when I need to direct a follower to something well-written on this topic.
By the way, and though it’s less important, just as a bit of information: in my home, we've always used unrefined cane sugar, the dark brown kind, and we consume it in small amounts, more like a 'spice' rather than an 'ingredient'.
Thank you for this interesting post! Posts like this are what make being part of the Community worthwhile.
Have a great weekend!

It's worrying how the powers that be is trying to destroy public education.
On another note, I like to use light brown sugar for baking. Dark brown sugar is great for cooking with meat, like Chinese braised pork belly.
