So I need to update my Las Vegas story, and all I can say is that I sure was drunk when I posted that. And the end of the post got mangled because of some weird symbol I included. I'll include that part again at the end of this one.

Monday I did meet the gentleman I had met online last fall. He was very nice and sweet and ate my pussy like a champ ðŸ†

He turned out to be the only man I played with on my trip, despite lots of conversations and messages. On Monday I carried on a hot and heavy texting session for about an hour with a very hot 30s local, but then he just disappeared. On Tuesday I conversed with a 21 year old who had just arrived in town for the EDC. We made plans to meet for a drink Weds afternoon, but he quit messaging me about two hours before we were going to meet. Then hours later he wrote and said he had gotten locked out of his hotel room. Don't know if I buy that story, but he was really too young for me. So NBD.

So instead of potentially banging a 21yo, I went wandering and got a message from an absolute god, at least from his profile photos. In town for a work convention, early 30s. Asked if I would be interested in meeting for a drink after he got out of his conference at 8:15. Sure, I said, reach out and I'll see how the night's going. Acting cool and everything. But I actually started planning, get a nap, what should I wear?

Eight fifteen comes, I'm looking hot and having a nice cocktail at my hotel. Eight twenty I receive this - " apologies but I have to now go to a work dinner. I hope you have a fun night or a good night of sleep you beautiful cougar". Goddamit. I bet he found someone better. I know he did.

Okay, regroup. An attractive man asked a while ago if I was free this evening, and now I am. Time to write him back and see if he's still available. He is, he's on the other end of the strip, but says he will meet me in an hour.

Hour goes by, I hear from him and he's not even left yet. Says his two buddies showed up at his door and doesn't know how to lose them. He sends a message a couple of times over the next hour, and I finally say look, just forget it already. I'm now hungry, and I want pancakes. I often want pancakes when I drink. I got the hotel next to mine, with a 24 hour diner-type restaurant.

I want to mention that all of these men are from the other site I have my profile on. Heart with horns.

I sit at the counter, and a few seats away is a lady who is also a member of the curvy tribe, but maybe late 20s. She says "are you on your own too?" Long story short, she was my much needed fairy godmother for the night. Dried my tears, we commiserated about men, and she got me to smile again. About this time Gavin ( I'll call him that because that is his name) messages again, saying he's just arrived at my hotel. Ffs.

I tell him where I am now. My friend leaves to go find her friends and pins one of her butterfly barrettes in my hair. Wishes me luck. My pancakes arrive and I start eating. Gavin is lost and can't find the restaurant. I give him detailed directions. Fifteen minutes later I receive this - "I'm sorry to keep you waiting. I'm not feeling it. I hope you do have a good evening". Okay, so I've wasted three hours at this point, to basically be told he's not attracted to me. Despite the numerous photos on my profile. Yeah, I'll definitely have a good night as soon as I eat my damn pancakes, go to my room and get packed, and end the night in bed watching Forensic Files. Fuck that guy.

But, aside from this ridiculousness with these men, I had a great trip. I went birding Tuesday out in Henderson, and it was incredible, and I saw three new species, or lifers as we say. I came home with all of the money I brought, plus $500. So that covers my hotel bill. I had such a cool encounter with my young fairy godmother, and that's one of the reasons I love going to Vegas. Meeting people like that happens a lot, and I love it.

But the happy ending I'll give you is about a new guy I met here, and we started talking daily during my trip. We met in person Friday and he was awesome and gorgeous and sweet. And we're making plans to meet again.

One thing that happens to me all of the time is getting approached online by men who have no idea how to carry on a written conversation. I'm sure I'm not alone in being aggravated by this. I'm at the point where I'll abandon them really fast when I feel like I'm pulling teeth to get more than a few words out of them. And asking me questions? Ha! As if. If I don't feel a connection with someone, I'm sure as hell not going to get naked in front of them. So many guys complain that their messages get ignored, well when someone actually answers you don't effing blow it by acting like a wet sock, for heaven's sake! Geez Louise. Duh!!!
