The Morning After... The Night Before

There's a certain dazed satisfaction, and disbelief , at waking up in bed with a beautiful woman warmly snuggled beside you... her scent clinging to your nostrils. It's not that I didn't dream of her, but I never thought any lady with her stunning looks would ever sleep with me. And then this lightning bolt jolted my brain, "Now what did she see in me?"

It's happened a few times in my life, and I'm sure in the lives of many men with ordinary looks. We set our sexual hopes based on what we think we can achieve. I don't pursue models or perfection: I'm grateful when she has a set of bouncy breasts and a squeezable bum. The only thing I expect in a woman is intelligence and a sense of humour. I wonder what a beautiful woman expects.

She must be constantly overwhelmed with hopeful suitors wherever she goes.

In my case, I walked up to the hotel bar and accidentally nudged her elbow as she sipped a drink. I profusely apologized for the next five minutes while offering to pay for any dry-clean bill. She smiled a lot and kindly refused but accepted my invitation for dinner. Later on, well into our second bottle of Merlot, she thanked me for rescuing her from a pack of men who had been propositioning her all evening.

I think THAT has to be the secret for men like me: a passive approach... and lots of wine. It must have been — what she was looking for.
