How are you today? Did you enjoy your weekend? It's a great time to work, LOL.
I planned on tidying the pond this afternoon. Went outside and found that when Cowboy did the weed whacking, he let the wind blow the grass debris INTO the pond. It was floating all over the surface.
I cannot lie. It made me cry. I try so hard to keep things clean. Meanwhile Cowboy and the kids drop debris everywhere.
I cleared out a little algae. Tidied up some water plants. Untangled the lily leaves. And tried to skim as much grass debris as possible. Cowboy saw me and thought to help with the leaf blower. Blow the grass farther away into the yard rather than on the sidewalk. It blew it south where the wind caught it, reversed it and covered me and the surface of the pond in more grass trimmings.
That's a metaphor of my life, LOL.

My weekend was so so. Highlight was some smoked pork steak hubs fixed and getting to see the new barn kittens. Cutest pic attached to make you smile after cowboy made you cry.

That pond sounds like as much work as a swimming pool.
Swimming pools are daily I thought? I have never had one.
The pond isn't daily thank goodness. I am getting my eco system up and fully functioning so it is more work for now. I have been in the pond twice this year. To be fair most people don't get in at all. I just like getting in the water, LOL.
Oh dear... we don't have little ones here as often as you do, but everywhere my husband goes, he leaves a mess. When I see a smeared microwave, spilled coffee, or greasy stovetop, we both say, "Tom's been here!". I feel your pain!
Oh my goodness. You are a saint. I know women clean up the majority of messes ... it's just so exhausting.
He's been through so much. I figure, if he's doing some of the cooking, I can clean up what he misses. I used to follow him around, cleaning, but now there are more important things to do. I will deep clean when summer rolls around - in less than 2 weeks!! Woo hoo!!

Sometimes other people just don't quite understand our passion. I remember when a past BF was mowing the lawn and got a little too diligent about making sure he was right up to the edge of a garden bed, and mowed down some of my lilies. 😭
I mean, mowing the lawn was the one chore that I wasn't crazy about and liked that HE did it, but he managed to ruin that.

Sounds like cowboy had one of those days that no matter what he did was wrong. It can be so frustrating for everyone. Life goes on. Hugs

Poor Cowboy. 'It's the thought that counts' doesn't quite help in that situation.

Place a large light plastic tarp over the pond till done cutting.

I need to shop to find a huge tarp because that would help a lot.

Today is a national holiday (Victoria Day) so schools, libraries and most retail businesses including grocery stores are closed, and there’s no postal service. Fireworks 💥 displays will be lighting up the skies and driving animals, especially dogs crazy!
