Hello Lovebugs!
How are you?
I'm alive. Life is beating me down. I'm ducking, weaving and throwing a punch or two of my own. I'm trying to get out of town for a few days to rest. So don't be surprised if I turn up on your doorstep.
The other day we were in Norman, OK which is a burb of Oklahoma City. It's a busy place.
We had stopped for a slurpee - icy - frozen beverage at a convenience store. Cowboy went in while I watched people.
A man in his 40-50's was walking along the sidewalk. He was wearing black shorts and a black tshirt with the sleeves cut off. His shirt stated Get Sober.
He had a finger wedged up his nostril. I kid you not. He was digging hard for something up there. Part way along he changed hands and nostrils. He went past the door to the store and walked to the cigarette snuffer container. He picked it up, turned it upside down and started shaking it vigorously. He turned it over, shook it, turned it upside down again and started shaking it hard again. Peered inside. Shook it more.
Finally, he dropped the cigarette snuffer, turned and walked off. Once again with a finger up his nostril. Crossed the street to another convenience store where I'm guessing he was going to repeat his search.
I was sitting there with my mouth hanging open. The public nose mining was repulsive. In private, if you got a dried boogie up there, I get it. Not in public though. And I have seen people pick up used cigarettes but never search for one so aggressively. The man really, really needed his nicotine fix.
It was an entertaining visit. It takes all of us being unique to make an interesting society.
And Cowboy brought me a root beer cream frozen slushy. It was delicious.

Ah, the cosmic ballet of life!
Your Norman, OK adventure reads like a scene from a quirky indie film. Picture it: “The Nostril Navigators of Norman.” Our hero, clad in cut-off sleeves, embarks on a quest for the elusive booger treasure. His nostril spelunking skills rival Indiana Jones, but instead of ancient artifacts, he seeks nicotine salvation.

One time, there was this guy wearing a 3-piece suit and a fedora, walking, get this, a huge scrub brush 😂
It was his pet scrub brush. His emotional support scrub brush, LOLOL
Not a rootbeer fan, but I discovered that the ICEE brand has a cherry limeade flavor at the Buc-ees in Springfield. OMG Sooooo good!
@CarriedBack Oh the sonic cherry limeade is great too. We have those here. Get it semi-regularly for a mid afternoon pick me up.
@CarriedBack @CL_Love I like the cherry limeade flavor too! At Sonic, I get the lemonberry slushes. No bubbles. Lemonade and strawberries are a great combo.

We were at an On Cue convenience store. They offer about 8 flavors in each store. Plus a different type of slushies. In addition to soda, coffee and teas. Truly a vast variety of beverages.

Sorry to hear that life if beating you down but with keeping up with the farm, the kids and Grands and the general crap like tosses you way I can understand it. Hope you can make it out of town for several days of self pampering. You might consider finding someone to give you a full body massage. Diane sure loves the ones I give her. Being a guy I have to admit the thought of giving you one is appealing.
People watching can be so much fun and also full of surprises. Never know when you will see someone who makes you sexy bits shiver or someone who makes you go Ewww! All the glorious, ways people are different does make like interesting.

When I was a child in St louis the best root beer was the IBC brand. It was originally made in and old brewery. Made the best root beer float in St louis. The bottles were old beer bottles. We boys would remove the labels and pretend we would be drinking beer with our parents.

I would love to not care what people think but the societal norms of behavior are deeply ingrained in me. I might dress weird but there is always someone weirder, LOL.
I’d hazard a guess that his nose picking was more than just booger searching. My family jokes that nose picking is called “dialing out “ and we will guess if it’s a long distance call or not by the duration. Yeah, we’re weird!
