It's great that you donated blood as they are in short supply and need it badly in most places. We used to donate plasma when we lived in AR. My hubby used to donate blood all the time over 10 gallons he has donated.
Sorry to hear about your water line I hope he gets it fixed soon.
I hope you enjoy a very happy hump day. XOXO
Your hubby did great!! I am not there yet. Years of pregnant and nursing hindered me. Hopefully one day
Hugs!!
That big needle scared the crap out of me the first time I went to donate blood, years ago! I walked out feeling like I was going to throw up just looking at it! I felt bad about not being able to donate blood so I just donate money and now I'm on blood thinners so I can't donate blood even if I wanted to.
LOL I have never looked at the needle! I always look the other way when they whip that thing out. LOL
I am sorry they made you feel sick. I hope they were kind about it.
Hugs!!!
Hope you're fixing this water line now... incredible you donate...how much i admire u sweet woman outside and inside.. he's lucky cowboy
I donate if I come across a blood drive while I’m out and about. All we get is a couple of cookies and maybe some juice.
That's stingy compared to my blood people. I cringe to think what they charge the people receiving the blood.
Hugs!!

We have universal healthcare here. Insurance covers the bulk of the treatment costs.
UGH! Broken or leaking water lines are the pits! Hope you can get it fixed soon as I am sure hauling water to where the line goes will be a chore.
I used to donate blood but have not for many years. I am not sure if I can do so now or not. I suppose I should check what the rules are as who may not donate.
Sounds like you were being your usual delightful self. I have no doubt that you usually leave people feeling good just for having been around you for a bit.
Sending you big naked hugs and may your Thanksgiving celebration be a good one and also one that is not too exhausting as I expect you will be doing at least some cooking and/or baking no matter who hosts.
It's sad to me that I rarely see young people donating. It's people our age keeping the fridge full.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thank you for donating! Wish I could but have been on blood thinners for about 30 years.
You need to take care of yourself! Those blood thinners are not given lightly. Hugs!!
I am a regular donor again; since they decided to start accepting donations from people who have been in the UK during the " Mad Cow " epidemic in the 80's .
Good for you!!! Do you go to one of the donor centers?
A lot of the screening makes me feel like they exclude huge groups of people. I have been told that what they do instead is perform extra tests to be sure the blood can be given to someone. Thank goodness because they always need blood.
@PonyGirl1965 At my age, the spirit is willing; but flesh is weak. I haven't had sex with anyone for years. More likely, no one wants to play with a guy my age and shape. I log on to the website and go to one of the mobile sites that are taking donations within my eligibility date.
Good job, Pony!! When I think of donating, and go to make the appt, I remember that it's been less than a year since my last tattoo. Ugh. I should plan better.
You will be past that mark soon. And your tattoo is worth the wait.
Hugs!!
I tried donating once. First off they couldn't find a decent vein. Then, when they did, the trickle was so slow it would coagulate in the needle before the bag was full. In the end, didn't even get a pint, so of course that had to be tossed. I have similar issues even when they only need to few tubes for testing.
Thank goodness for people like you!
Oh my goodness you have thick blood!! Or their phlebotomists are not too skilled. They should find veins in the dark.
Hugs!!!
I used to give blood every once in awhile through the years but now since I started medication ,I can not do do 😒
Meds will get us all eventually.
Hugs!!
I donate whenever I can. 🩸
I presume they filter mine through a sieve... I hope. 😂
I bet your blood is awesome! Hugs!!
Yes, I need to go and donate. Have a wonderful Wednesday Pony...Hugs
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Hugs!!
@PonyGirl1965 Happy Thanksgiving!!! Hugs.
I can't donate blood because I once had glandular fever.
There are several illnesses that block people. Our bodies do so much but they can't shake everything.
Hugs!!
Kudos.....and more. I used to donate, but can no longer. As a recipient of blood and plasmas.....i personally Thank You PG. And what better gifts.....food n clothes.lol
You have been on both sides. I'm so happy you survived the reasons for needing blood. People have to be really bad to need a transfusion. Big hugs!!!
