I did picture myself traveling, and after a long break during covid it seems I'm finally back to that.
I did NOT picture myself obsessively knitting, haha.
At least knitting is a good hobby

We have both said that we will never retire, because you hear of people retiring, and then passing away. But then Hubby went through all that heart stuff a few years ago, and had to retire. I never thought I'd see him do all the cooking around here, but he does a fantastic job! Yesterday he made a double batch of Vanilla Pudding/Choc. Chip Cookies.
I'll play the piano until I can't, then fill the days with cross stitch.
Wow. I can't picture Cowboy being domesticated. It would be nice though. he retired and my workload went up, instead of down. If only I could send him back to work. LOL

I'm sorry. That sucks!

I guess that is part of my problem. I never really pictured my senior years. Now they're here and I feel like they're being wasted. 🤔
Make a goal and work toward it. I like your traveling
@PonyGirl1965 Me too, but for several reasons that is becoming a challenge.
I've never spent any time imagining the future ... too busy living in the present.
Oddly, I don't think i pictured it much at all. If anything, some vague sense that I'd like to travel with hubs or friends. What is becoming apparent is that it will be quiet and lonely.
Our ideas and the reality do not always align.
Hugs!!
Quiet is OK with me. Trying to keep an (almost) daily gym routine and taking group exercise classes and getting to know people has helped with loneliness. Silver Sneakers (free gym membership) is great!
I don't think I ever had an idea about what my older years would be like other than hopefully alive!
Alive is a great goal
Hugs!
Some traveling and staying healthy as possible and also with some fun
Your weekend sounds so inviting—dogs, sunshine, and football make for a perfect mix. When I picture my senior years, I imagine being surrounded by creativity and meaningful connections, still writing and reflecting, and giving time to volunteerism.
Others dream of family-filled homes or flourishing gardens, but I picture staying engaged through writing, community, and purposeful expression.
You have great ideas!!
Hugs!!
Still doing what I enjoy.
