Today I missed a call from my oldest son. He also called Cowboy. So Cowboy called him back and explained I was outside and my phone was left in the house because I was mucking with the pond skimmer baskets. I just know I am going to eventually drop my phone in the pond 
"It is 2026! That phone should be welded to your body!"
No way kid. I laughed and reminded my son that I spent decades of life with phones being attached to walls. Not to me. I accept that I may need help and have to wait.
And I love that I am not available 24/7, LOL.
So what has shown your age lately?

I still use paper maps
I love paper maps!!! I stop at the tourist office when I cross state lines and I always try to get a printed state map. I keep them forever

@superbjversion2 I have some lake area maps but not county. I would love it if I found them
@PonyGirl1965 check with the county road commission; that's how I got mine.
It's similar for me, often I'm upstairs and my phone is downstairs or vice versa. My watch buzzes when I have a call coming in and I actually can (kind of) have a conversation on the watch, but it's glitchy and I feel like a silly Dick Tracy.

Sorry to hear you missed a call from your son but I love the explanation you gave him as it's so very true. I really have to think about your question as nothing comes to mind recently.

I rarely use my phone for calling. When I'm at home, I keep it in my room charging.
HA! That is always a discussion point around here. Though I express it as "the rectangle of knowledge (ANYTHING you need to know is accessible there) should never be more than 5 feet from your body".
Mine is often more than 5 ft away. I may regret it one day ...

Hello Pony Luv, hopefully all is well with your son and he just wanted to keep in touch with you. Unlike my son who only calls when there is a problem with the house or he needs something else. I remember reading that when your children leave the house the total time they talk to you after that equals about a year. My son is going for half of that I believe. Chuckle.
What has shown my age lately? Other than the popping joints as I move about or the silver/white hair or maybe it's my 'I don't give a damn' attitude? I'm sure it's something.

My son calls a few times a week just to chit chat. I have talked to him every day so far this week. When he is driving between sites in Colorado and Wyoming he calls. We get to be a part of each others lives

I so agree with you, I have a blue tooth head set and phone is in pouch on my belt. Because of what I do, I get lots of calls for problem solving and also a good order from a customer. Not so long ago would have to stop at a pay phone and call my office to report orders or call that I needed to return. It seams today everyone wants answers now not like days a few years back...Hugs
I recently bought a headset so I could do chores or sew while talking. Its such a help.

I am like you I don't feel it necessary to be attached to the phone we still have a landline I tell people use it to contact us..

I still carry a small flip ph! People make fun of me all the time about it, but I don't care one bit! It fits in my shirt pocket, and I hardly know it's there. I don't need all the bs that goes with a smart phone. Simple is good for me. I guess that shows my age! Lol
I loved my flip phone! I still miss it. A smartphone has been handy while traveling. Otherwise, it is just a phone to me.

@CH42412 My current phone is a smart phone and the location only gets turned on if I am using maps. Otherwise, location and data are turned off.

My son lives 2,000 miles west of me, so it bothers me when I miss his call.
Recovery time from injury & illness takes longer but I refuse to say it’s ‘age-related’.
Ohhhh when my son was in Japan I would race to the phone. If I missed him, I would cry.
Now that he is back in the states, he can call me every day or two. We are much more casual.
