Today looks like a good one to get outside and enjoy the bright sunshine and the beauty of the snow. I should emphasize the looks like as though it is sunny the high is only 4 degrees F (-16C) with a wind chill of -17F (-27C). That is making think I should do much as I did this past Saturday which was to stay inside and not putting a stitch of clothing on till sometime after noon on Sunday. A good day to pick just what picture or pictures to post on HNW. Not making any progress I am now posting about my difficulty and wondering if any of you all have any preferences or suggestions. Here is the set-up.
A week ago Diane asked what the upcoming HNW theme was. In error I mixed up this week's theme C or D for last weeks. She told me she what she thought would work very well for C or D and I ran with taking many pictures last Tuesday. Realized my error and took the ones for last HNW that same evening. Silly me I thought having so much time to sort through the ones for this week would make the job easier. Sadly that has nor been the case and I trying to choose between just one picture or a progression of them showing my smiling face while demonstrating the theme. Of course, some are showing no bits, teases of bits or all my bits. I have never figured out if most of you prefer a single picture or really like when I do a progression with narrative of several pictures. Yeah, I feel like I am chickening out by asking you for an opinion.
Here is one of the pictures I had been considering to use in a narrative situation before I realized that the only reason to use it is because it is a rear view. I am including it in this post because it connects, sort of, to this post and because I know posting it will get more views and comments. Anyway, hope you all like it.
As long as I was including a picture I thought I would add these which I wanted to post last month. I took them back in December when Diane were heading home around sunset from a ramble. The sunset across the lake was too lovely to not stop, enjoy and take pictures of. The first picture is what I got after I manipulated the colors etc of one of those pictures. I rather like the way it looks perhaps because the green makes it unreal.
This is the picture I manipulated to get the one above. It made for a perfect ending for a perfect ramble.
Tomorrow is supposed to be almost as cold as today and just as sunny. I am thinking of asking Diane if she would like to go on a bit of a back road ramble to enjoy countryside views with a real amount of snow on the ground. Maybe even get to see some moderately decent looking snow drifts. Would have done so for today but Mondays are reserved for her art group.

You always have trouble choosing your HNW picture. It might be time for just closing your eyes and sticking in a (virtual) pin.
Seems that I do. You may be right about closed eyes and a virtual pin. With my luck I'd likely hit the worst picture in the lot.

If you're tempted to go outside amidst the cold and amongst the snow for an HNW picture, then I'm glad I cheat at HNW!
I would not dream of going outside for a HNW picture at this time of year. Now if it was after June 1st I would be tempted.
