I have been mentioning that I was going to post about this ramble Diane and I took last Sunday in several comments an tags as well as in my last post. Finally here it is.
Most days the week before this I had been in a moody funk from poor weather and the crap from Washington. I did not even get out to see Diane what with each of us having conflicting schedules. Then on Friday we had one of our longer phone conversations. Over two hours! It still amazes us how we can talk of so many things. From stuff we did as kids, to Art to History, to Science and other stuff and so often each subject is in some way connected to the last. We truly have very deep connections.
Well, Friday we agreed to get together on Sunday as Diane was booked on Saturday. Sunday's weather was beautiful. Sunny and not chilly tho not really warm either. She picked me up about 11:30 and we drove over to a favored breakfast cafe just west of Madison. Had a wonderful brunch, of course with conversation, and then headed west out in the country on mostly back roads. After about 45 min of driving we wound up on a County highway near the Wisconsin River and pulled into a Wildlife Conservation area described as Scrub Oak Savannah. It lies on the old flood plain from when the Wisconsin river was fed by Glacial runoff and the soil is very sandy an poor. In areas of that nature one even finds a type of prickly pear cactus growing. We thought it was lovely and both of us took a number of pictures. Some of the trees were budding out. Some in reddish shades others in pale greenish yellow but in color too pale and subtle for our cameras to pick up. We just took it in sometimes with comments about the coloring of the old grasses, pale tans and rusty golds. Here are some pictures I took.
I took this picture because I loved the way the tree looked and hoped the camera would pick up the red of the just budding leaves and flowers. I think it does though not well.
Same tree here but not so close up. The place had few big trees and a lot of scrub juniper or cedar here and there. It may have had someone try to farm it or use it for pastureland in the past but Mother Nature is taking hold very well now and I think its best use is to feed the souls of those who view it.
This is a shot of what we saw from the lane coming into the place. These three pines make me think there had been a farmstead long gone and the trees were planted by that farmer. My first pictures were taken facing North and these trees are more to the East.
A shot of the hills or as we are want to call them, bluffs, to the East. The Wisconsin River would be about a quarter to half mile behind me. Both I and Diane love this area of Wisconsin where the Glaciers never scraped over but still left their mark. The camera could not pick up the pale bit of pinkish red and greenish yellows that sort of washed over the hills from the new spring life.
This picture is again to the right of the last one and I am facing a bit west of south. I took it because I loved the color contrast and how the clouds in some way made the vista seem more cozy. One of the reasons Diane and I have so much fun on these rambles is that we both love just taking in such views but also how we each are more likely to first pick up on some aspect or item and then point it out to the other. We compliment each other so well it amazes me.
For all of you delightful pervs reading this I would have loved to have stripped naked there and had Diane take a picture or more of a bare me in such a lovely place but while it was sunny it was still a tad too chilly to do so. Maybe sometime later in the summer.
Diane and I spent a good bit of time there and then decided to head out. We did sort of the driving equivalent of ambling along a side road along the river for a bit but did not get any pictures. Then we headed north and east crossing the Wisconsin River and took the first interesting road off of the highway. (We do try to avoid taking highways and mostly stick to more rustic, ie, scenic roads and lanes.) Those county and township roads offered us some glorious views along with some wonderful wildlife encounters. Once on a rather twisty back road we had two deer run across the road and leap the fence in front of us making Diane stop. There were another 5 or 6 that were waiting to cross but when we stopped some turned around and ran the other way. We got to see a large herd, 15 or 20, of them many miles away and later in the day running flat out across an open field. When Diane saw them we stopped on the road an enjoyed the beauty of them crossing the road in front of us and hurtling across the field on the other side. It was a magical sight and day. Eventually, about 5 pm we ended up in Portage, Wisc. in need of a pit stop and a snack. Stopped at a Diary Queen and enjoyed Chocolate Dipped Cones. We were getting tired by then so we took a more direct, but not major highway back to Madison. It was a bit after 6:30pm when Diane dropped me off at my place. I think we were both still a bit high from the wonderful day but also we were exhausted so she went straight on home. As we both were having trouble keeping our spirits up what with all the crap in the news that day was the the perfect antidote. I hope my description of it was not too long and not too disjointed. It was just the kind of day that one stores up to treasure when feeling down. I so hope you all have or soon find someone to enjoy time with and who makes your spirits soar when together.
Diane and I did get together with a mutual friend for brunch this past Wednesday but she has had a full week of appointments and such so our time together has been limited. Fortunately, today is going to be a beautiful one weather wise and soon I shall be able to call her to finish making arrangement for some sort of nature walk or car ramble or both later today. Likely one starting with brunch at a favored bakery or diner. Who knows, maybe we will find a nice beautiful place secluded enough and warm enough for me to strip for pictures. As we shall end up at Diane's place and I will be spending the night and maybe even a good part of tomorrow with that delightful woman I can hope she will take some pictures of me wearing what I am right now. Just my watch and rings or likely a most skimpy bit of sheer thong or g-string.
Well, I have rambled on long enough and need to clean up a bit before packing for overnight with Diane. I will be leaving putting clothes on till just before I leave my apartment.
Hope you all have a wondrous weekend and enjoy the full moon. Hmmm, I think I shall need to arrange to be kissing Diane under that full moon.

Sounds like you had another wonderful day with Diane. Great photos 😁
It was a wonderful day and one more so than usual. Glad you liked the photos.
Sending you big naked hugs.
I hope you and Diane have a lovely romantic interlude under the full moon
Hugs!!
We have had a romantic interlude or two since then but not under the full moon. It is on our to do list for when it warms up more.
Sending you big under the full moon naked hugs.
Keep enjoying and sharing your adventures with Diane 😊
Diane and I always enjoy our adventures and intend to do so for a long time to come. I expect I shall continue to post about some of them since you and so many others seem to enjoy them.
Sending you big naked hugs.
There is a place I like to walk called Stearn's Creek Park. It was once a tree farm. The parks dept has removed all the old pine trees and are working on restoring the original oak savannah.
There was no snow on the ground and the temps were above freezing ... you could've handled 5 minutes of nakedness!
Sounds like a lovely place to take a walk or to just enjoy sitting and being.
I suppose I could have handled the cold but I erred in wearing jeans not shorts so getting naked would have been difficult.
Diane says she will try to get good pictures of me out in Nature and in a natural state soon.
Sending you big naked hugs. BTW Diane says she would love to meet you sometime.
@justskin1 Wisconsin lighthouses have been calling my name
@superbjversion2 I would love to see you again and introduce you to Diane.
I enjoy reading your rambles about your rambles with Diane. Great photos per usual.
I am not just sure why so many of my followers enjoy reading about me, Diane and our rambles. Perhaps it is partly that they are somewhat like something they do or would love to do themselves. Anyway we sure have fun and I admit since so many like to hear of them I like posting about them. Oh, and posting pictures even if I am not in them.
Hope you have a great weekend.
@justskin1 I think it's because you and Diane are a love story in real life.
