OVER 100 DEGREES!
So....the root canal went very smoothly last week, but the crown hurt like hell! What??? That's never happened before. I don't understand how a tooth could hurt 5 days later, when the nerves were removed. ??? The assistant said maybe the nerves could still be "pissed off" from the trauma. The dentist had to add more and more Novocaine, and my jaw is still throbbing. Weird. I'm sure it will go away soon. Hurts to open my mouth, too, so no bj's until it goes back to normal.
The weekend was interesting - it rained, which we needed desparately - and I could've gone to 3 funerals on Saturday. I chose one, and regretted it. We lost 2 classmates this summer, both women, both to alcoholism. Very sad. The funeral I went to, the 19 y.o. son stole the mic for 30 minutes, going on and on and on about his mother. He's not right mentally, and at one point he called his mom a "stubborn bitch"!
We're letting dogs out all week for a friend - she has 4 Frenchies. They're hilarious with all their grunting!
The zucchinis and cucumbers are abundant next door, so they brought over almost a 5 gal. bucket of each! Time to get freezing or baking. I found some cool recipes that replace zucchini for pasta, might try one. The more I look at them (they're HUGE), the more excited I get!!
Today and tomorrow, it's supposed to feel like 110 degrees. Gross. Kids and sister are coming to swim today, we're doing lunch, which will include watermelon and local sweet corn. Mmmm. Tomorrow, a friend that moved to FL is visiting. The pool is amazing, and deck lights have been hung without us killing each other. Bahahahaha!!!

That 19-year old's funeral speech was hardly appropriate.
It definitely was, but he has been on suicide watch, and was in a mental hospital about 2 years ago. The whole family suffers from mental health issues. We were hoping the pastor would've taken the mic away from him, and started the service. The whole thing was very unorganized.

While a lot of the country bakes, we've yet to have our first 100 degree (actual air temp) day this year. That is CRAZY - normally we'd be counting up what the string of 100+ days is by now. BUT we're forecast to come close this coming week.
I made the mistake of planting squash on summer. OMG we were overrun! Eventually I was using them as fetch toys for the dog, but she'd eat them and her poop turned runny and yellow, so had to quit that too.
I would consider you lucky! We had 100+ temps in June also. Yuck.
