this state is what i like to call Gawds Land. It is one of the most beautiful places ive ever been. It hardly changes. ive been coming to this area since i was a baby (this is my mothers place of birth until she was 18 when she moved 3 days after high school graduation to DC}. i can drive to this area with my eyes closed. it truly is remarkable. still untamed and wild. seriously.
-i was soooo happy to drive past a BUC-EES! ive always wanted to go to one and its newly opened in Virginia. Its the only one in the state. It was jumping! there were probably 40-50 gas stations, with about 3/4 of them filled. gas was 2.65 a gallon, not a bad price. i went inside. pretty sure my mouth was a gape and i set on a walk about in the store. it was the size of a BIG walmart. and it was running effortlessly. stockers, food people, clean up, item sellers, people were just running around, working it like a fine oiled machine. the exception was however, not enough cashiers. i didnt quite understand that part. long lines to check out. i did try one of their famous beef brisket sandwiches and beaver chips (hard kettle fried chips.). i bought 2 bags of beaver nuggets, one for me and one for my daughter. HONEST FOOD REVIEW: i enjoyed the beaver chips a lot. The famous brisket sandwich was ok; i wasnt a fan of the bbq sauce and i was VERY DISAPPOINTED in the beaver nuggets. its supposed to be like a sweet corn snack. totally wasnt a fan.
Will I stop at another one? Yup, it was fun. i will try something else to eat. there was a HUGE fudge counter, i could do nothing but look. hard for me cos' i love some good fudge. though i had to pay for the xlarge drink i got, it was worth every red cent because i just got ice water. i love water, of course, but im not a huge fan of bottled water. i prefer some ice and tap water. and this water had a great taste.
also rather interesting is that they DONT allow truckers. probably for the better because im sure it would be a huge shitshow

The WV fans are friendly. Tasted plenty of shine in Morgantown while tailgating. Oountry Roads!
I've never been to a Buc-ees. The most common pit stops for me are Wawa in NJ, Royal Farms through MD and maybe VA, and Tim Horton's in Canada.

WVs a beautiful state, I visited a few times when my rellies lived in NJ and PA. I was lucky enough to coincide with the fall foliage one year, astounding!
Bucc-ees on the other hand, I've been to a few in TX where my rellies now live. Like you, they rave about it, but I struggled to see why, sorreee . . . I got a gift of a bucc-ees onesie a couple of years ago, now that is one item of clothing you will never catch me in! 🤣🤣🤣
