When my husband was in school he wrote a biography about his great grand mother and marveled about how her world changed from everyone riding horses to everyone traveling in cars/airplanes and even sent men to walk on the moon. TV, radio, motion pictures were all invented in her lifetime. Kids today will write biographies which describe the transformation into the computer age. The rise of malls killing the downtown shopping districts then the power of direct mail to kill the malls. We went from 5 channels and no remote control to basically infinite download possibilities of any form of entertainment. Vinyl, 8 track, cassette, CD, Beta, VHS, Laser discs, DVDs.....all rose and fell. Pong, Atari, Sega, Genesis, Playstation, Virtual Reality.....how long until the Holodeck goes from science fiction to a basic room in every house. The rules of most every major sporting event have changed so much you can't even follow a classic game replay.

The respect we used to have for one another. That you could have a debate with someone over a politician, like the president, and agree to disagree without ending up in. a near fistfight. Its sad the disrespect we have for each other now.

@nastytease4u businesses have ALWAYS hoarded their profits, hated to pay taxes, and tried to pay their workers as little as possible. That is how unions came into being, how laws to protect workers came into being. The modern age is the BEST working environment there has ever been. Go to a 3rd world country and see how people live - I promise you, you would not want to live like that. Sorry Jenna, but the reality is you live in paradise compared to the rest of the world. Simply being me, and being such an athlete. I miss it sooo bad.
All of your choices to vote on are excellent and such a close tie but what I miss the most is when we were not so divided. I miss the days when we did not choose our own opinions equating them to right vs wrong over relationships, family and friends.
What do I miss from the past... nothing... except the woman I lost... What you're describing is called development... mostly technological development... but as long as people's evolution doesn't keep pace with technological development, I have to make do with the present and not cry over missed things or opportunities from the past.
