Love your HNW pictures!
I saw Oppenheimer too and thought it was a very good movie if a bit disjointed. Hated the way the musical score often drowned out the dialog but that is a problem in way too many movies. One reason I like closed captioning. Will be happy to see it again when I can watch it with captions.
It was a good movie, but I'm not sure I would watch it again. Parts of it were a little too drawn out for me. I sure thought Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. were both great, though.
I love your new shorts! So fun!! Great pics.
I wait for movies to be available to watch at home.
Hugs!!
I usually watch them at home, as well. This is a banner week, having seen TWO movies in the theater! I can't remember the last time that happened, it was definitely before the plague.
It was not the theater. The music was too loud when I saw it. Made it difficult to hear the dialogue.
Yes, as I commented to Enigma, after I posted this I found a whole Reddit thread with people complaining about the sound.
Cute jammie shorts.
I remember having that Stevie Wonder album.
The 70's! Back when we had vinyl.
ItZ on my list.
I've read so much about it and recently watched a related flick — "A Compassionate Spy" — the story about Ted Hall.
I won't be disappointed.
Really nicely put-together song; thanks for the reminder. 👍
I've never seen those daisies before. 😲🔥
Interesting, I don't recall the movie talking about Ted Hall...it did include some mentions of Klaus Fuchs.
A good horn section will almost always make a song for me.
@smartasswoman
Ted was nineteen when he joined the program and ended up being a spy for the Soviets — sharing all he knew — in order to balance the scale; in his mind.
Anyway, I'll have to watch the 'real' big-screen version soon. 👍
@Paulxx001 well, they were ostensibly our allies at the time. Not really though, in the government’s mind. I think the higher ups always knew there was a post war end game where the Soviets were no longer our friends.
Cute Jammie shorts 😁
I saw a review saying that it's better to read the book before seeing the movie.
I could definitely see that - since the movie has different timelines going, I was a little bit lost with the plot for a while (especially after I had to duck out to go to the bathroom). It did all come together for me during the last hour of the movie.
I'll probably watch this, but not in a theater. The theater experience isn't what it used to be. I don't like reserved seating and There are few movies showing in theaters that attract me any more.
I rarely go, and usually go to the neighborhood theaters which are older and more basic. So I was kind of blown away by the leg room and the reclining seats at this theater. My watch thought I was asleep for an hour and a half! 😂
Oppenheimer is my to-see list. I wonder if @citizen4722 has this album!
I'm surprised no one used piano keys or a computer keyboard.
I was surprised he didn’t use it for his pic today.
I’m going to remember computer keys if this theme ever puts in an appearance again!
I am planning on seeing it soon.
Bring ear plugs and learn how to lipread. 😂
I thought it was a very interesting story though.
I love those shorts! This was a great photo shoot. You look fantastic.
Thanks for the Oppenheimer review, I’m waiting for it to hit streaming but I do plan to watch it.
Christopher Nolan is pretty notorious, in my opinion, for poor sound mixing. He seems to like to make his music too loud.
I find this annoying because I do love his style but struggle hearing dialogue with a lot of background noise. It’ll be easier for me to watch at home where I can mess with the sound.
I just did a little browsing online to see if there were other people who were bothered by the sound, and there was a whole rêddit thread about it, some people saying they had to leave the theater to take a break because it was painful; others saying that the dialogue was inaudible. Apparently part of the issue is that Nolan refuses to have actors re-record dialogue in post production so there is no chance to fix lines that weren’t loud enough to stand up to the soundtrack.
I would probably tell anyone sensitive to loud sound to watch it at home with sound turned down and subtitles.
