The bathroom remodeling is progressing. I have a plywood floor now, instead of just scary old boards with gaps between them. The walls are insulated. The preliminary electrical and plumbing work is finished. But it's still not much to look at.
The fancy tile arrived. The colors aren't really what I was expecting, but I've only seen this picture sent by the project lead and who knows, the lighting might have been funny. 🤷🏻♀️
Ironically, the special order tile arrived on time, but the tile for the shower floor that was supposed to be a readily available option is delayed. So the project schedule got moved back a week or so. I think once the sheetrockers are done tramping white goo in and out, and creating mountains of dust, I'll be ready for a week's break before the tile guy gets started.
I had a birthday this week. Nothing too exciting. I had a lovely yoga class in the morning, and spent most of the afternoon knitting while six sheet rock workers tramped in and out (I have an entire kitchen ceiling again, huzzah!). HWD was able to stop by briefly in the evening, after his kid chauffeuring duties, to share a piece of cake with me. Next week I'll have lunch with my besties.
Anyway in honor of the birthday I'm sharing a rare face pic (taken during the photo session for HNW Lace). I feel like this makes 66 look pretty good. I'll probably take it down in a day or two so if you don't see it, it means you were late to the party.
And maybe all you'll be able to see will be this AI version. @staci_19702 clued me in that PicsArt will give you 3 AI pictures a day even if you're not a subscriber. I've done several tries on this photo and interestingly, NONE of the versions were smiling (I think the smile is the nice part of the photo). I wonder if AI isn't programmed to create smiling people? 🤔

I would be shit at carpentry. That’s why I’m paying lots of money to have someone else do it who knows what they’re doing. Did it seem like I was being critical? I think they’re doing a great job so far.
It's hard to have workmen hanging around for days on end. Pam wants things done but it drives her nuts having her home invaded.
Yes, this is definitely the longest project I’ve ever done. I don’t think any more major remodeling will be on my docket. But maybe a major plumbing upgrade. 😬

Nothing truly entertaining so far... although on Thursday they put sheet rock on the existing ceiling, which I didn't think was the plan. Too late to un-do now. I guess my hatch into the attic is well and truly sealed off now! (I had a previous contractor create a new hatch in a different room because I was worried about moisture from the shower going up into the attic).

I crop out my face of course, but I have noticed in many of my HNW shots I'm not smiling. I guess I'm just so intent on the mechanics of getting the shot I forget it is supposed to be fun.
