The concert last night was fantastic. Jeremy Messersmith did most of the songs from his Reluctant Graveyard album, but there also was a great selection of Halloween/devil/hell/death themed covers.
I thought it would be fun to share some of them.
The most hilarious cover of the night - in terms of it not being Jeremy's normal style of music - was Highway to Hell. I mean, his gentle, wistful voice is not meant for a song like that. He did change his voice into more of a rock and roll scream. Then when the song was over, he said, "Do I have to try to sing now?" lol. Even though he did a traditional rendition of the song, I'm linking my favorite version.

What fun, I love covers done in a different genre, it gives them such a fresh look!
True true. The band Brave Combo was an old favorite of mine, they did songs like People are Strange by the Doors, as polkas.
I have done a few of these songs either on Halloween posts or other blog posts and love them. Not a Taylor Swift fan but so enjoyed the rest of the songs and vids..xoxo
I’m not a big fan of hers either - it was kind of surprising how much I liked the song hearing someone else perform it.

It was very well done in every way. 😊 He often brings in a string quartet to augment his band and that adds a really nice touch.

Yes, “some day everyone you know will die” is depressing. But I like “let them know you realize that life goes fast”. It’s not stated, but I feel like that says tell your loved ones that you appreciate them.

I’m the same in captions - I have my YouTube account set up that way and also my Netflix and Hulu.
It wasn’t officially a costume event but there was a small sprinkling of people wearing costumes - maybe 20%?
I liked "Do You Realize" but I may have been influenced a bit by the dancers. 😇
It figures. I found them a bit annoying and distracting in an otherwise interesting video. I would have rather seen more of the elephant! 😂
