The laziest kind of blogging! I don't have much of anything to write about today, so I'm clearing the accumulation of photos and memes that I've saved recently.

What have I been reading lately? For my book club, I read Lessons in Chemistry, which was fun but not very realistic (there were probably a few feminists in the 1950's but somehow I think even fewer were lecturing about the patriarchy). Currently I'm reading The Last Slave Ship which is nonfiction telling the story of the last ship to transport people from Africa to the South to be enslaved. And it's also about the town that was formed by those people after they were freed. It's quite interesting (and horrifying). I'd recommend it if you're interested in history.
I'm 11 days into my experiment with the estrogen cream. I'm not experiencing any significant changes in my lady parts so far, but this morning I did have a mild hot flash. It would be just my luck if instead of fixing my vagina, the cream restored me to the middle of my declining hormones phase where I had troublesome hot flashes. 😂 The one this morning wasn't really troublesome. I actually think I could tolerate them better now that I'm no longer working.
Finally, a knitting meme. Hate it when this happens!

Haaa, I did a similar (clearing out the clutter) post a week or so ago.
That first shot is neat, but clearly not a reflection like you're primed to see.
I recall hearing about the last slave ship. How the descendants of the slaves are fund raising for a historical museum now. And how the white descendants of the slave owners tried to hide the evidence of the ship and still own most of the land around there.
The original owners of the ship burned and sank it after the slaves were delivered. I haven't gotten far enough along in the book to read about their descendants, but I could imagine them trying to obstruct the ship's recovery.
The whole expedition was basically done on a bet...at that point it was illegal to bring new slaves into the US, and a plantation owner bet that he'd be able to do it without being caught.
