The glass art is stunning!
I really like the green gradation. It's really pretty
Thanks, I'm happy with how that part turned out. ๐
I think your transitioning to the lighter green makes the sweater more interesting than if you had ripped the old green out and gone with just the lighter green.
I agree the art is awesome! I keep thinking that Diane and I need to come up to the Twin Cities and tour the art museums. Looks like you have some great ones. One problem is it looks like a multi day trip to take in just one museum.
Yes, the Minneapolis Institute of Art could definitely be a two day visit. On the other hand they have a really large collection of Asian pottery and so forth, so if you were willing to buzz by that you might be able to do it in a day (not that I dislike Asian pottery...just saying if I was prioritizing I'd probably look at other galleries first).
You also might want to strategize so that you're visiting at a time when whatever special exhibition they have going is something you're interested in.
Your knitting never ceases to amaze me.
Thanks ๐ Itโs therapeutic for me.
I will check the show out, the sweater is amazing,
Admission to the museum is free but you do have to reserve in advance. I think they have three time slots a day, Thursday through Saturday.
I like your new knitting project.
Thank you!
I remember trying to create op art pieces and couldnโt give them the 3-dimensional look.
I donโt have any streaming services and have been enjoying in-theatre experiences seeing films on an assorted of screens.
I like the design on your sweater. How long will the finished product be?
I have to think the painted pieces required a lot of math and precision to get the perspective just right for the illusion.
The finished sweater will have long sleeves and probably hit just below the waistline. Sometimes it just depends on how much yarn one has left at that point. ๐
I want the love
I donโt have prime anymore so thatโs out for me. I wasnโt ordering much from them anymore and Iโm not paying extra so I donโt have to watch commercials.
I want to look at the one circular one from the side. It looks like itโs 3d
Pretty sweater
Oh too bad - I was thinking Patriot would be right up your alley. I do get it though, I'm going to be dropping it myself.
Neat art!
I kind of like the color transition in the sweater and think you should quit now and leave it as a crop top.
Always open to streaming suggestions - thanks.
One of my friends suggested a crop top too, when I posted this on a different site. I'm not as large as I used to be, but I still don't consider my waistline crop top-worthy. ๐
I've been looking for something new to watch, thanks for sharing the trailer and your review, I'll check it out!
Those glass pieces are fabulous, I'd love to see them in person!
I think it's a very under-rated series.
Jon Kuhn is based in North Carolina, so maybe you can find a gallery if you're ever passing through that way. ๐
I notice that your sweater-in-progress has dimensionality similar to the works at the museum.
Thank you! I could go off on a long dissertation about how that's because of color dominance, but I'll spare you. ๐
@smartasswoman "Dominance", huh? I never know what to think, but you're never boring.
@CarpeJamie in a nutshellโฆwhen youโre doing stranded colorwork in knitting, colors can look more or less prominent depending on how youโre handling the yarn in the back of the project.
Hereโs a side by side example.
Very very cool artwork.....id be one looking at it from the side...lol
Glass work is lovely , as is the swirl pattern in your sweater. You do great work!!
Thank you so much. ๐
I love that leaf pattern on your new sweater!
It's an eye catcher. As soon as the designer released that pattern a couple of years ago, I knew I'd be making it someday. Her sample was in gold and brown.
@smartasswoman I like the green better.
I love your sweater! The green swirl is lovely.
The colored glass art pieces are intriguing. I love that kind of thing.
Hugs!!
Thank you! โค๏ธ
Interesting artwork... and a kool sweater.
And two more (potential) shows โ before I get a life. ๐๐ฒ
He can sing... ๐
Nice song. ๐
Both clips are for the same show. ๐ Unless you're thinking of Fargo too. It's a great TV show - every season is a different setting and a different cast of characters (with a few who repeat just for fun). Noah Hawley does a good job of capturing the vibe of the Fargo movie, I think.
@smartasswoman
Yes... Fargo.
Saw the movie back in the day. I'm easily drawn into a good series. ๐๐ฒ
@YourGoodLukCharm
That documentary made me feel better about how much I enjoy the solitary exploration of some of the many nature spots near me: ironically, I'm not alone. Lol... ๐
You might be thinking of Olafur Eliasson; I'm a huge fan of his.
