Can a standard member use points to read a message here? How many points are needed?
(I can read messages just fine, but would like to gift some points to a friend so I can send them some information).

I asked Tier 2 and Standards can no longer use points to send/read messages in the Message Center, but they still can use points in the IM.
But, it does work to become someone's Top Fan - I did that in this situation and he was able to read my message.

I'm a standard member and I can read messages sent to me. No points needed.
It's one of the few perks of being a woman. On here I mean.

It seems to be inconsistent. 😊 At any rate, by virtue of asking the question, I found someone who was able to connect me!
As a standard member, I can't read the messages through the mail system. I can read the instant messages through the messenger on the dating side for free. I can respond to the instant messages by paying 17 points per discussion (1 hour max or it asks me to pay again). The only thing that is a pain there is we have to be online at the same time...well that and the fact that the messenger is terribly glitchy (sometimes shows you offline when you aren't).
OK, thanks. This individual isn't online very often...in fact he dropped a comment in my message box asking if I knew what happened to spunky, so I'm guessing he might only be logged in once a month or so.
