The mosaic does look much better not on the bathroom wall!
Agreed!
Very talented. Way to make use of left over materials
Thanks!
I love your sweater! You did an incredible job!!
I like the tile on there too. And agree on the wall it looked totally different. Lighting maybe ...
Yes, there must be something different about the way the light hits it when it's vertical rather than horizontal.
That sweater is GORGEOUS! How long did it take to make?
I had to go look at my Ravelry entry for it - I started it December 19. Along the way there were two times that I had to rip back a significant amount. First when I noticed a dropped stitch about 10 rows back. And the second time when I finished the fronds and decided having them all solid green (the top color) was too boring. So I ripped it back about halfway and used a different yarn on the bottom.
But four to five months seems to be pretty typical for me for a long sleeve sweater. Especially since I usually have a second project that I'm working on just to keep things from getting boring.
A classic design for a classic lady. It really looks great. The leftover tile project does look like an art project when I was in art class when I was in junior high. Thanks for posting the pic. It brought back some wonderful memories. My art project was a gift for my mom. She had it on a wall till she past away.
I bet your mom treasured it.
Your post has made it this time.
Nice Smarty Nice !
Beautiful sweater! I am terrible at mosaic.
Love to see Mr Hitchcock
I wasn't 100% happy with the little pieces that I cut. The owner of the mosaic studio explained that since I was using tile intended for floors or wall, it was thicker and I wouldn't be able to achieve neat edges as easily.
Apparently there is tile made especially for mosaics. Who knew? ๐
And he's on tour right now...I'm sure you could google to see if it includes your town.
@smartasswoman I am sure much of that comes with practice. I have this unrealistic expection that I can watch 1/3 of an expert craftsperson video and expect to be skilled.
Nice that you found a use for a bit of the rejected tile.
Yes, although maybe I don't want the constant reminder of my bad tile choice? We'll see.
The sweater looks great ๐
The tiles worked well as a table top
I will think of it as my $3000 table top, ha!
Lovely sweater. It looks very nice on you
Thank you. ๐
