Hope get over all rain. Had similar here for 6 week period, all of May
I hope you took your wellie boots to the munch.
Luckily they weren't needed.
Thankfully we've rode the fine line most of this spring with getting enough rain to keep some of the dust down but not so much that we've had more than some localized (and mostly just flash) flooding. Nothing that's really snarled any plans up.
And some people will just never get it about seeking out potential play partners. Ugh
We're getting a more reasonable amount of rainfall now, but the ground is so saturated it doesn't seem to make any difference - even a normal rainfall and I'm getting a little water seeping into the basement.
You know I almost quit reading after the WW comment. Thinking man what #$%@. closed but had to come back. Just rude to cut someone off mid-sentence. Sorry and then... not. Never been to a munch. Where is the gold message feature found?
This was on a different site. Munches are more of a thing in the kink community. A casual group meet and greet situation. Very nice as an alternative to trying to meet people one on one. If someone you're interested in doesn't show up, or it turns out you're not clicking, there are other folks there to talk to and the outing isn't a total loss.
I don't know what you mean by gold message feature?
Sometimes knowing when to quit is the key.
Just yesterday afternoon I was hanging out with an old friend that convinced me to join Fet a few years back. Neither of us is very active there, but she did mention she'd look for upcoming events for us to attention together.
This guy doesn’t know when to quit. Every time he’s messaged me, he hits send and then ends up adding two or three more messages that just make him sound more dumb.
I hope you find a fun event to go to! I think that’s the most useful feature on Fet.
Lol @ the groups... over the years I've declined a lot of men based on their likes or groups. So I'm glad they post them. Saves me time. I don't care how edgy or kinky they think it makes them seem, someone who's a member of an underage or denigrating or taboo group gets a pass from me pronto!
Crazy amount of water there!
YES. Or even the groups like "20 something women who are into 50 and over men". Thanks for letting me know you have unrealistic ideas about who you can attract, dude.
That guy clearly knows how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!
I read your comment to HWD and he loved it!
Dudes who are totally clueless are usually the ones who whine that women are so picky. Few seem to realize that it's not just the messages they need to be thoughtful about, it's their profiles, as well.
Wow, that was some flooding! It looks like there's a lake at the end of the road! 😮 Glad you still got to enjoy the munch 😁
Yes, exactly. I did a post in the past warning about putting certain requirements on your profile (like, "must be thin" ) because most of us DO read the profile and if we see that we'll probably disqualify ourselves, not wanting to feel like we were someone they were "settling" for.
The groups the dude belong to would make me reject him immediately. They don't seem to be 'thoughtful men' kind of groups.
i agree PG....a one tracked mind kinda person. No diversity of thought there....
I guess I only assisted him in hiding it...I noticed today that he had removed himself from those groups. Or, if I were to be more positive about it, maybe he's teachable.
That dude probably adds "for your age" to his compliments, too.
We've had some rain but no floods here!
@SubWithBrains only if I'm feeling kind ... for my age. 😂
He is 11 years younger than me, so yes, it's pretty amazing that he managed not to say "for your age".
Your munches always sound like a lot of fun.😊
I wouldn't have taken offence to his Lynda Carter remark.
He was probably referring to the fact that Lynda was married to (the late) Robert Altman for 37 years, and you weren't. Of course, there are her two children — where you have none. And Lynda appeared in movies and you didn't.
Yes, the differences ARE striking.
But not in a bad way. 🤗💕
Did U know that you & Lynda share a love for puzzles?
I mean, yes I clearly realize there are differences between myself and Lynda. Given that, I don't see the reason for him to point it out. 🤷🏻♀️
Interesting, I didn't 't know she was married to Robert Altman. Maybe it's time for a re-viewing of Short Cuts.
@smartasswoman
Robert's films are all special, but "MASH" is one of my favs.
BTW, I'm not defending your friend, but as someone who also suffers from occasional akrasia — I know where he's coming from.😶
@Paulxx001 thanks for teaching me a new word today!
@smartasswoman
Use it in good health.
It can be deployed to justify... anything . 😎
Compliment might be too nice a term for it. How does that old phrase go...Sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
Glad your "munch" came off in spite of the flooded parks. I can't remember there ever being flooded parks at this time of the year....Spring, yes....Summer, no.
Crosby and Hidden Falls are often have paths that are under water after heavy rains...but it's been a while since they've been completely flooded out like this.
The backhanded compliment is rarely a good first move. Head meet desk.
That's some serious fortitude, what a ton of rain!
Yes, everything is seriously saturated around here. Hoping for a dry July.
Photo taken by someone in my neighborhood, of the park -
woah
Swim anyone?
@NightBloom95, @redswallow777, @EnigmaInitiative yes, the park is almost entirely under water. I was really surprised they let us in to use the picnic shelter.
