Chilled lavender towels sounds wonderful
Several of my friends have a-fib. All are taking blood thinners and have ablation from time to time. Only one of them had just one ablation without need for another. Others had it repeatedly with different frequencies.
All say that itโs not that dangerous but itโs bothersome.
Good luck.
I have the same attitude (bothersome but not scary). I've had two ablations. Before the second ablation in January, I was having some breakthrough episodes even when on meds. So, I guess if I go back to taking my meds and that stops the episodes, I'll consider it a win.
@smartasswoman
Usually any kind of minor lines, flu or even cold or some anxiety triggers it for the oldest of my friends. He got some new medication last week after another ablation so he hopes it will take hold for longer. He is 81.
All the best to you
The damp washcloth sounds like a wonderful amenity. A-fib sounds like a very scary thing to have. Glad the episodes have diminished and the meds work.
I've been dealing with it for so long that it doesn't really scare me anymore - I know it's not going to kill me (unless I forget to take my blood thinners and have a stroke). It is a disappointment though - I was hoping I had it licked after the ablation in January.
@smartasswoman Is good to hear you do not feel it should scare you but I do understand the disappointment of a procedure not accomplishing what you hoped it would.
Ugh on the A fib. I am happy you are being proactive.
A chilled, lavender washcloth sounds amazing.
@PonyGirl1965 another episode this morning, so I'm going to re-start my meds...just contacted my doctor for a refill.
Iโve either been busy with other things (beach weather on those days) or itโs been raining on the weekends (beach days when Iโm at the office), so Iโm still yet to go snorkeling. Itโs a 2-day weekend and guess what? Yep! Rain with rough waters forecasted ๐
Aaaaw sorry! We have hot weather forecast for the weekend but also a good chance of thunderstorms, sooooo ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I hope things are okay with your heart. I'm glad to hear the meds helped.
The chilled washcloths sound nice.
Happy HNW-TH
That's a good point about the meds. It may be that I'll have to go back to taking them, but I'm hoping that even so, I'm still improved from before. Because the last few years I was having occasional "breakthrough" episodes even when I was taking the meds. Maybe the new situation is that I still have to take the meds, but if I do I'll no longer have breakthrough episodes.
I appreciate your openness in sharing your experiences with AFib and the ablations youโve undergone. You have been taking steps to manage your health, and thatโs commendable. I am sure your cardiologist will provide guidance during your upcoming appointment. Wishing you strength and positivity!
Thanks sexyldy. โค๏ธ
I'm sorry to hear about your recent a-fib episodes. I hope it's a one-or-two-off.
I was hoping the June 22 episode was a one-off - now that I've had two, I'm not so hopeful, but we'll see.
My gent friend has a-fib and will be going for an ablation soon. In my research, I learned that there is no cure for a-fib just a reduction in episodes. Plus, there are triggers. His is working outdoors in really hot weather.
I like that your gym has chilled cloths!
I think there are a rare few who manage to go completely into remission after an ablation and major lifestyle changes. I'm doing well on a couple of fronts - exercise and eliminating alcohol. As always, my nutrition could use some improvement.
We've been having regular days in the 90's. But to balance things out, we get torrential rains. Yesterday, we had a month's worth (4 inches) in a couple of hours. I was stuck in traffic for three hours on what should have taken 30 minutes. At least I was entertained. Some kayakers in the speed lane waved as they paddled by.
Good luck controlling your a-fib๐
We've been having those torrential rains, too. I had a guy out to clean my gutters yesterday. He was about 2/3 done when it started to sprinkle and I was hearing thunder. I went outside to ask him whether he should come down. He shrugged and said, "Hey, I've had a good run" (he has a nice dry sense of humor). A few minutes later it started coming down in sheets and he did scamper down the ladder and retreat to his car to wait it out.

Hm, interesting glitch - I forgot about shift-enter. Pressed enter twice quickly to make a new paragraph and ended up with two comments, haha.
@smartasswoman
This shift thing is ganna wear me out FFS.
Just did it twice on this reply.
Three times.
Funny guy. Lol... ๐
Yeah, yesterday, there were parts of some highways under 10 feet of water.
Ya know... I don't think I've ever used that devil emoji guy, you?
@Paulxx001 The purple guy? I don't ever use it...it seems like it's supposed to convey flirty/sexy, as in, "oh, you're making me feel...DEVILISH!". As you know that's usually a mood that I try to avoid conveying. ๐
Oh my, best wishes with the A-Fib! Have you considered contacting your cardiologist and asking about coming in early?
Thanks Cleave. I haven't thought about that - his schedule is so crammed and both times I "converted" within two hours, so I don't consider this an emergency. I imagine at a minimum he'll put me back on the anti-arrhythmia drug I was on before. Perhaps there will be discussion of a third ablation (ugh).
I look very flat chested when I lie on my back, haha!
Don't worry about it, so do I. ๐ถ
Me too. ๐คฃ
Happy HNW.
@CleavageFan4U
... i did NOT see your comment before I posted mine... ๐
@Paulxx001 @CleavageFan4U great minds think alike! LOL.
@smartasswoman
Isn't it something like: "Fools seldom differ?" ๐
@Paulxx001 Actually the time stamps indicate YOU were first, but of course we can't see comments by others immediately after they are made.
@EnigmaInitiative thanks for the hug, hon.
@smartasswoman This time it went away, how weird.
