I've done a number of previous posts about weird coincidences - dating people that it turned out friends of mine had dated previously, and so on.
Last night HWD and I were lounging around, watching TV. He was waiting for his "mini me" to drop by for a car hand-off - she had borrowed his car. She called and said she was near, and he was looking out the front window for her while still on the phone. ("Stop! You're here! Stop! Back up carefully" ). She sees the sign in front of my neighbor's house congratulating their new graduate (of a nearby private school that she happened to also graduate from in May).
Her: Why do they have that sign?
HWD: I don't know, I suppose they have a kid that goes there.
Her: I think that's Andrea's house!! (not the actual name, obviously).
HWD: ANDREA lives there?!?
At this point I chime in and say, "yes, their kid's name is Andrea".
The reason this is a somewhat startling coincidence is that there was a dinner in May for graduating seniors and their families, and HWD and company actually sat at the same table as my neighbors and their progeny. As he explained it, "I've seen them out in their back yard but I'm trying not to gawk at them, so I never looked at them closely enough to make the connection that they were the people I ate dinner with".
It's funny to think HWD has probably had more of a conversation with them than I have. We almost never say anything to each other. There have been a couple convos about our shared fence that is deteriorating. That's about it. An occasional wave hello.
We were in bed later on and he started laughing.
Me: "What?"
HWD: "I wonder how long it will take for them to make the connection that the guy they chatted with at the senior dinner is the same person who's been making sounds next door that make them wonder if someone is being murdered?"

You see, HWD tends to be rather loud and vocal in bed, and sometimes there's what I would call a primal scream. I always keep the windows closed for that reason (among other reasons, like not wanting to hear their dog barking in the middle of the night) but I have joked that it's probably loud enough to penetrate my windows, and theirs as well.
Perhaps at some point this summer we'll be having a barbecue, and they'll be having a barbeque, they'll look across the fence and see him, and there will be... a moment.

We live in a comparatively small town (50k ish people) and REGULARLY realize there are connections between folks that we know in drastically different ways. But that will be funny if they figure out the "noise". LOL
Oh, I'm pretty sure they know what the noise is...but when they realize the guy who's moved in next door is the same guy they sat with at graduation dinner... 😬

He is…even watching tv with him is fun, he laughs uproariously at anything even mildly funny.

Once it cools down of course, perhaps you should leave the windows open and see if the neighbors call the cops, or come to join the fun.
It's not like I haven't heard embarrassing things from their house - mother-daughter arguments, one time someone throwing up in the middle of the night. But sex sounds are extra embarrassing.
That fence will have to come down some day. 😶
It's definitely decrepit, the other day a contractor knocked on my door and said "your fence has seen better days" and handed me his card.

If for no other reason, he works 7 days a week so he's almost never here during the day.

Get some estimates, tear it down, and meet new friends.
Plus, it'll up the resale value when you sell the place. Not that you'll need the money.
But when HWD brings the rest of his stuff in — where ya gonna store it all? 💕
@Paulxx001 At the very least, the neighbors need to rebuild the shared section of the fence, because they have dogs.
I've thought about getting a dog at times, and if I did so I'd want to have a fenced yard. I'm trying to think if I've seen anyone in my neighborhood who didn't have their back yard fenced. It's pretty rare here.
@Paulxx001 as for your last question...it's a real dilemma. I don't want it all in my garage and basement family room forever, but I wouldn't have the first idea of where to disperse it all in the house.
I like having him around, but there are complications with the ex that lead me to think he should still have a goal of getting his own place eventually (the ex has somehow formed a bad opinion of our relationship, and therefore won't allow the kids to visit here - which means he has to go to her place 25 miles away if he wants to spend time with them).

As you said, its a small world...lol. Im sure the looks at the neighbors now will take on a different meaning, from both sides, if the daughter and Andrea are semi friends~
I don't think they are super friendly any more - at one point they apparently were friendly enough that Andrea was picked up so they could go to an event together, and that was how the mini-me recognized the house.
