This is a story about that other site I’m on, the fetish one. At the beginning of summer I had an exchange with a guy. He wanted to know if our munch had happened because he had something that came up that prevented him from attending (it was a cloudy, rainy day - but yes, the munch happened).
I checked out his profile and noted that he had one of those complaining posts about how women on the site aren’t receptive and won’t meet. I left a comment on the post explaining that not every woman on the site is looking to date or meet people, some are just there to stay connected with friends and learn about events. I also explained that some other women might be interested in dating but turned off by the groups he belongs to (variations on ‘looking for a hookup’, and the main local swingers group - bdsm-centric folk often aren’t interested in swinging).
In the meantime we exchanged several more messages. He was complaining about evening munches not being convenient for him, so I suggested a couple others that meet weekend days - his response to that was that he’s usually at his cabin out of town on the weekend. Every suggestion I made, he had an excuse so finally I basically said “Ok I give up trying to help you”. Then he sent a couple more messages about how he wouldn’t bother me anymore (to which I thought, “good” and didn’t reply) and another one about how he hates being a whiner blah blah blah.
I thought I had heard the last of him but noticed he had RSVP’d for our munch last Friday. Then he didn’t show up - no surprise. Later that day he messaged me and apologized for not coming, but he had a flat tire. Suuuuurrrre. I said ‘no worries, it’s not uncommon for someone to mark themselves as “going” but then decide not to attend’.
Then he sent another message wondering if I would meet him for coffee (except it was very long and meandering, “I’m just looking for a conversation” etc etc). I simply replied “Sorry, no, I don’t do one on one first meets”.
I mean - if he had bothered to look at my profile he could see that I have a partner, and if he really dug in he would have learned that partner moved in with me in May. I could have just said that to him - “I’m not really looking, I have a partner and we’re open but I don’t feel the need”. Thing is, whenever you say the equivalent of “I’m not interested” usually the other party gets very defensive and says “I wasn’t HITTING on you, I just want a conversation”. 🙄
To my “sorry, no” email he just replied, “Sure.”
But then a few hours later he messaged: “What does 6.9 mean?”
I was very confused. I thought he saw something on my profile (you know, like I’m a 9.3 on AFF) or in my photos, but there isn’t anything like that on my profile. Finally I said, “I guess I don’t know what you’re referring to”.
Him: “It’s a stupid joke. 69 is something fun to do that gets interrupted by a period”.
Is this guy for real? I was trying to stay polite with him - I’m a group moderator and he’s expressed interest in my group so I don’t want to be rude - but jeez. I counted to ten (actually I waited a few hours) and then I blocked him.

After the storm we were treated to eerie orange/pink skies, and folks in the west where the storm passed through first, were treated to seeing a rainbow in the east with lightning flashes behind it. I missed out on that part since it was already getting dark by the time the storm had passed over where I live.

I understand you trying to be polite as the moderator of your group, but UGH...men like that drive me BONKERS. Whine, bitch and complain when THEY are the problem. If something is important to you, then you adjust your schedule and go. RSVP and miss a group event once...ok...stuff happens...but multiple times? Ugh. As they say "If you really wanted to, you would."
I had a real winner a day or two ago...my dating profile used to have a "heading" something like "She is a hot wife" and he spent the time to instant message me and point out that I am no longer "hot". I started to explain that "hot wife" is a kink not a description of my looks, but decided it wasn't worth spending the points. But really...what happened to "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" (which I also thought about replying with, but again - not worth it). But I hate that I let that crap sit in my brain even for a minute to contemplate a response.

We had a humdinger of a storm last night. As the initial rush of wind came through, I heard a loud crack. A while later I looked out the window to check the sky and saw that a big limb came down on our median. Luckily in a spot where it didn't damage anything.
Sunday morning I was sitting in my basement office looking out the window at all the lightning in the area. I decided to shutdown the computer. Two minutes later the power went out and stayed out for 5 hours. No real damage in the immediate area, but some parts of town did get some wind damage, including the nearby AFB where Day Two of the airshow was cancelled. (I wasn't planning on attending either day as the Feels Like was forecast to be 108 with another 5-10 degrees added for being out in the paved ramps. Fifteen people were treated on Day One with 5 being hospitalized.)

The storm wasn’t a huge surprise since it was insanely hot and humid yesterday. One town recorded a dew point of 86!
And I was up an out when the morning downpour hit us....decided to wait it out in the car rather than starting my day a wet washrag. I think you had the patience of a saint with this guy. Glad you finally let it go and blocked him.

@bignicktx when it first fell it was partway into the street and they did send out a guy with a front end loader to shift it on to the median. I think since it was a tree on the median it will be the city’s responsibility. If it had been in someone’s yard it would be the homeowner.

Just watched "Bombshell" on Amazon the other night. That's the story about Megan Kelly, Gretchen Carlson, et al, over at Fox News with Roger Ailes. The story begins with Donnie inquiring if Megan is bleeding from her eyes, or maybe elsewhere, when she asked him a particularly pointed question during the debate.
Mostly it’s really stupid - as he himself acknowledged. Why he thought THAT was a good way to keep a conversation going… 🤷♀️
