A few weeks ago I was at a kink party and ran into a long ago acquaintance who I hadn't seen for a while. He was asking me what groups I'm active with these days, and I mentioned that I had been meaning to check out the electrical group (he is one of the moderators).
Today was their monthly gathering. We had a "pre-game" get together where some of the group went shopping at a nearby surplus store called the Ax Man and browsed to see if there were any pervertibles. Then we gathered at a small 1950's vintage home. Introductions were made and the group moved down to the basement for a demo. Today's presentation was on combining a violet wand with chain mail. One of the presenters is a crafter and has gotten heavily into making chain mail. The way a violet wand normally works is that a strap is fastened around the subject's leg, which makes them conductive. If a person runs their hand over the subject's body, both of them will feel (and see) electrical sparks. The presenter had discovered, somewhat by accident, that if he dons his chainmail vest and someone touches it, it somehow protects him from feeling the sparks but the toucher DOES feel them. He said he found it really enjoyable since it's kind of a reversal of how things usually work. I went up and tried running the back of my hand over his vest and sure enough, I felt quite a buzz.
His co presenter used some other implements on his vest that produced quite a pretty shower of violet colored sparks in the semi-darkened room, it was fun to watch. Things like a chainmail flogger:
Then it was time for other folks to play mad scientist. For it being a small home, the basement was really spacious, so there were four different rooms with massage tables where play could happen. I chatted for a while and then started wandering around to watch what was going on. In one room the homeowner was using electrified acupuncture needles in a woman's back. The needles were connected to a controller which in turn he could control from an app on his ipad. He was trying out different patterns of stimulation on her. It didn't seem that it felt unpleasant to her - at least there was no cringing or crying out.
My friend was working on a woman in the next room and when he saw I was watching he started explaining some of what he was doing. Initially she had the strap around her leg and he was mostly using different metal objects on her. Then he put a glass attachment on the wand and it glowed purple in a spooky way, and he was applying that directly to different parts of her body.
It went on for a quite a while and then it was my turn. 😬
His previous subject was nude, but I'm more of a modest type so I kept my underwear on. Which actually turned out to be a tactical error - I discovered that the sensation on the clothed parts of my body was more intense. My friend's theory is that the clothing barrier creates a fractional additional amount of space for the electricity to arc through.
He started out with the purple glass thing. It was....not exactly pleasurable, not totally unpleasant either? Stronger than a tingling sensation. Then the strap got fastened on my leg and he was trying different things with his hands and various tools. Probably the weirdest sensation was when he put his fingers on my scalp and started rubbing. Craaaazy. By the way, researchers are studying whether mild electrical stimulation to the head can boost cognitive ability. I will let you all know if I feel smarter during the next couple of days.
Another freaky sensation was when he pressed a metal stick into my hand and I felt a strong pulsating sensation that caused my fingers to move involuntarily.
The one thing that actually felt pleasant was when he used a couple different pompoms with metallic falls (on one they were aluminum and the other one was mylar) and ran them over my body.
That produced a very diffuse sensation. Someone else who was in the room chatting with us called it "sparkles" and that was apt. Like fairy dust being sprinkled on my body.
He closed out giving a try with a Wartenberg wheel. Nope, too intense for this newbie. "That's enough of that" I said. 😂
All in all, I'm glad I tried it. I did have the most marvelous woozy feeling afterward.

I can't really speak to that, but you did remind me of another funny thing that happened. While people were chatting after the demo, one woman mentioned that adipose tissue conducts electricity more efficiently. The chain mail guy said "oh really?" She said "Here, I'll show you". She hooked him up to the violet wand again. Then she pulled down her pants and bopped him on the arm with her ass. "Whoa!" he said. Then she pulled up her shirt and pulled down her bralette and held her breast so that just her nipple touched him - which produced another "whoa". Apparently a nipple conducts a much more focused charge than a big ol' butt. 😂

I was interested in just what electrical play was and from your description it is not quite what I had thought which is more like what happens when one touches an electric fence. It does sound interesting and your descriptions were very good. I am undecided if I would try it or not if given the chance. So you left me wondering if you would like to do that again. Like some new kinks I imagine you may have to think about it.

Initially I was definitely interested in trying it again. Then the Monday night after my electrical experience I had an a-fib episode. So that gives me some pause. It was more than 24 hours after the session so it’s tempting to think it’s unrelated. But, my a-fib has been very well controlled ever since I went back on meds last summer so that seems kind of striking that I had an episode.
@smartasswoman It may be unrelated but I think you are wise to treat it as if it is. It is good to know that your a-fib is under control and may you not have another episode for a long long time.

Ah, you have empathy. HWD is the same way, he has trouble seeing some of the scenes at kink parties. With me, I don't mind seeing someone in physical discomfort (especially since I know they've chosen to have that happen). I've had similar experiences. My brother once asked me to hold two ends of exposed wire while he went around back — to the outlet — to make sure the power was off: we were repairing a mower. I jumped a couple of feet in the air when HE plugged it in and began laughing uncontrollably. Me? Not so much. We were young and silly.

You might have been interested - at the end of the get together, chain mail guy asked my friend if he would use a cattle prod on him. 😳 He was curious how it would feel. My friend used it on his thigh, and he did have big muscular thighs - it didn't seem to bother him much.

I am an electrician. I can tell you that you would be very surprised to see the math. It does not take much electricity at all to cause a shock or even death. If you have any kind of heart issues, I would advise you to pass on this kind of play. Most electricians that get exposed to electricity are lucky to come out the other side without damage. Nobody really knows what it does to your brain and nervous system over the long run. Even cancer is a concern. It is anecdotal, but a lot of linemen that work for the utility companies get a lot of cancer.

I am not a fan of this kind of play. But it's because of medical reasons. One day at work when we had some free time 5 of us lined up and we used a train of four. It's use to deliver an electrical impulse to a paralyzed patient. We help hand and tried it the impulse went through all of us. Then one person decided to increase it. While doing it to himself he had PVC's. So if you have any heart arrhythmia's you should avoid this.
That is definitely a concern that I had. I did speak with one of the moderators who has arrhythmias herself - she said she had never had an issue and then went into a technical discussion of voltage and amperage that I didn’t follow. 🤷♀️

Have you tried using a TENS machine on your private area? I have used on after being told by a friend that I was chatting with here on AFF. She had used then on here girl cousins and said I should try it. we had one with 4 pads to place on the body.
