I finally finished the granny squares for the throw I've been working on. Seven each of 10 different color combos, for a total of 70. The pattern called for a throw to be 8 squares x 11 squares, but I didn't have the patience (and maybe not enough yarn) to make eighteen more squares.
Now I get to crochet them all together. 😭 At the rate I'm going, it might take almost as long as it took to make the squares. But perhaps I'll get the hang of it and speed up. I thought about crocheting them together as I went along, but I wanted to be able to devise a design with all of the squares BEFORE I started sewing.
I'm starting to get more serious about planning my free time in NYC - yesterday I had a wild hair and bought a ticket for Hamilton. It wasn't exactly cheap, but I'm probably one of the last people on earth that hasn't seen it? (exaggerating 😂 ).

You do look good in that suit. As for the throw, I can understand wanting to be able to arrange the squares in a pattern of your choosing. Hope it is big enough to keep you warm.

Did you catch that the squares that are the same are arranged on the diagonal? I like the fact that at first glance it seems utterly random, but actually isn't.

My daughter is in NYC right now! She's so excited to spend a long weekend seeing the sights. I told her she should see about going to a Broadway show, but she said she didn't think it was in the budget. Maybe next time. That's a cute swimsuit. I like when they have a bit more coverage and I don't have to worry so much about riding up my butt or if I forgot to shave my bikini line. LOL

I haven’t seen Hamilton. I read that the scheduled run next year at the Kennedy Centre (which I have been to) was cancelled by the producer because, “Our show simply cannot, in good conscience, participate and be a part of this new culture that is being imposed on the Kennedy Center,”
I agree with their decision not to perform at the Kennedy Center. If I had to guess though, the new regime's response was probably 'don't let the door hit your ass on the way out'. 🫤
Really cool patterns...this was crocheting, right? That I've done. But you're really clean and precise with your consistency across all of them. I'm looking forward to the final throw. And that bathing suit is adorable. It's a very flattering neckline on you.

I liked the story of Hamilton but I do not like the new style of musical where they mainly sing the lines. My daughter says tough because this is the new and favored style. I am old fashioned it seems

I watched Hamilton on Disney and enjoyed it.....I think in the forum you will see it is way much better, I am sure you will enjoy it,

You don't have to crochet those squares together. You can do an invisible sewing. Using the dark blue yarn , put two squares face to face and whip-stitch through the back loop only.
btw - I've never seen Hamilton and I'm okay with that.
That's kinda what I'm doing? Except using crochet hook to pull yarn through and then also pulling it through the previous loop. Like what's shown in the last couple minutes of the video below, starting at about 19 minutes. I think you're right though - it would be a lot faster just to do it with a needle.

I know what you mean - the other day I saw a clip of Kendrick Lamar's "They Not Like Us" at the Super Bowl with the lyrics superimposed. Finally I understood (sorta) what the song was about!
