As I mentioned yesterday, HWD decided he was going to attend dressed as Cupid. He is very much a do it yourself kind of guy so that did NOT mean going on Amazon and buying a cheesy plastic bow and arrow. Unfortunately he didn't get started until Friday evening. There was a trip to Goodwill and then another trip to a sex toy shop. He came home and started working on the costume as we were watching TV. He had purchased a cheap white sweatshirt hoodie and the first step was to cut the sleeves off, construct wing frames from wire coat hangers, then sew the sleeve material onto the frames. That was all he got done Friday night. I suspect he constructed the quiver for his arrows, and the bow, while he was at work on Saturday. I know I know, not kosher, but he'll make up for it by working longer hours today.
The quiver was quite ingenious. He had bought a hot pink bathrobe with white dots at Goodwill. He cut off the sleeves, connected them into a long tube and lined it with cardboard to stiffen it up. He used the bathrobe tie for the strap for the quiver.
The bow was constructed from several layers of cardboard which were wrapped in silvery tape.
The party was to start at 7 pm but I knew we wouldn't be on time, since he usually works until 7 pm. I had alerted our hostess that we would be late. He texted at 7:15 that he was still at work and asked me to call him. He said he was still working on his costume, asked if I could drive and said that he needed to shower when he got home and have me help him pick out things for the rest of his outfit. Me: "I was hoping we wouldn't be TWO HOURS late" (that was the testy part). I did a followup text and said "Maybe you could work on your costume in the car while I drive?" That was the whole reason he asked of course!
Oh I forgot the arrows! At the sex toy shop he found these funny straws with penises on the end, and plopped them on to sticks.
So, he rushed a little and we got there at 8:40 - not quite two hours late! But he wasn't finished with his bow so he stayed upstairs working on it while I went down to the party room in the basement. Twenty minutes later I went up to check on him and he was still wrapping the cardboard bow with silver tape. I opined that it would still be stunning even if he didn't cover the whole thing....
So here it is. He wore a pink beanie and pink socks which was kind of dorky, but what the heck, I guess he was an athleisure Cupid. 😂
As for me, I was even more last minute and just opted to wear this slinky robe (photo from my archives). Underneath it I wore a matching spaghetti strap slip.
It was a nice party. My friend G. was there - it was the first party he'd been to in some time because his wife had lung cancer and died a couple of months ago. 😢 I was glad to be able to give him a big strong hug.
Some of the scenes were a bit on the intense side for me, particularly one that was going on toward the end of the evening. It was while HWD and I were topping each other and I found it pretty distracting, not in a good way. Our party hostess was the sub and the guy who was topping her was a big lumberjack-looking dude. There was lots of insulting patter calling her a stupid bitch and reveling in how he was going to make her cry. I do NOT like that kind of thing. However at the very end of the party I realized that she had posted a sign on one end of the room indicating that was what she wanted at this party, and spelling out what was OK and not OK, which put somewhat of a different spin on it. I still don't really understand why someone would want that, but I respect them being able to get it in a (relatively) safe way.
I topped HWD, then he topped me, and by comparison, our scenes were a nothingburger. 🍔😅 A little bit of impact (more from him to me, than from me to him), some tickling (more from me to him, than from him to me - he loves being tickled). My favorite part was getting rubbed down with the dog grooming gloves. Maybe that's a LITTLE humiliating? LOL.

Back when we still had a dungeon here, at one of the parties they staged a "take-down" scene (r***). They warned everyone in advance it would be intense and staged it in a room off the main room. I was otherwise occupied and did not view, but I guess it was VERY intense for the (willing) "victim" was in the hospital for several days afterwards.
The hospital! Holy cow. That is very risky, good chance that the authorities might get involved if someone was hurt that badly (willingly or not).
@smartasswoman She was hospitalized for an infection. Reportedly part of the scene included her head being pushed into a toilet and presumably that is where the infection started. (TMI?)

I've never been a fan of the humiliation kink... I don't even like to be around it, though I know it's consensual.

I never like negative patter in or out of scenes. Same goes for name calling. Even if it is chosen by the sub. It's a me thing going back to my childhood.
