The needle biopsy went well, aside from the doctor not being able to find the cyst at first. She was scanning around and around and around, nothing was showing up. Finally she moved the wand up my boob a bit and voila, there it was. "That's not at nine o'clock, it's at ten o'clock" she scoffed.
They numbed me up with some lidocaine and then the needle went in. I could watch her probing around on the screen. The black spot pretty much disappeared after the first sample was taken, but she did a second sample anyway. She said based on how it "behaved" (collapsing after being pierced with the needle) she was fairly sure it was a benign cyst. And indeed, that was the result that came back the next day. Whew.
Interestingly they placed a tiny titanium chip inside my breast at the spot where the cyst was. It will show up on future mammograms and the interpreting radiologist will know that's a spot that's already been looked at. Henceforth y'all can just call me Bionic Boob.
Yesterday was the big May Day parade in south Minneapolis. I hadn't been for several years. It's a big deal for HWD as he was involved with the theater group that organized it for many years. That group stepped back and the parade was a BIT more free form this year, but still seemed very well organized.
Highlights -
The beginning of the parade featured a large red painted cardboard snow plow, plowing up little cardboard SUV's (ICE agent vehicles).
The "Southside BattleTrain" is a series of hulking, welded together vehicles, that belch flames. Think a Mad Max vibe.
Bad puns - a group of people in ant costumes with a sign saying they were the "Resist Ants".
Several great marching bands - my fave was the one playing Funkytown.
I took quite a few videos and was going to piece them together, but I found this one on YouTube that is much better shot than mine were.
The video doesn't show much of the Battle Train, so here's a video of it from a couple of years ago.
I have to wonder where they store the goldarn thing! It's at least two blocks long.
My yoga teacher closed class today with "Namaste and may the Fourth be with you".

That's one fun parade. Looks like people were having fun watching the parade.
I think most people felt really good to let off some steam after the winter we had.
You people in MN seem to have a good time with the day. Over here, we had the event sponsored by an "anticapitalist" group, attended by 20k at a park and highlighted by endless speeches, 13 arrests, and a mock beheading of the Labor Minister. Sheesh... 😐

We did have a more "serious" event on Friday, the actual May Day - people had a march down Lake St. promoting unions, etc. It's all good. Unions are a good thing. I wasn't in a union but I know my pay and benefits were way better because of more than half of my organization's workforce being unionized.
Mock beheading probably wasn't necessary, though.
The Minneapolis mayor isn't very popular amongst the extremely liberal residents and a couple of months ago they staged a "Jacob Frey performative mayor" impersonation contest. The footage I saw online was pretty hilarious. Let's see if this link works, I know sometimes YouTube "shorts" don't post here.
I wonder if your new bionic bit will be enough to set off the airport security scanner!

The doctor said it isn't big enough to set off the scanners. We shall see!

Great news for you (and indirectly for us — your faithful readers) when you started to tell your story the image in my mind went immediately to the many times nurses probed my arm with a needle looking for a vein. Whew so glad they did a less painful inspection method before indiscriminately stabbing your tender bit.
And to relive Camelot — it’s May, it’s May, the lusty month of May, where everyone throws self control away….

Ha, yes, I've been through the needle poking in the arm - I used to be on a med where I had to have levels checked every 4 weeks or so. Some techs were able to get it in just like butter, others - not so much.
May is worth celebrating even without healthy boobs and ICE mostly leaving...

They are still around, but not in the same numbers as last winter. The really dedicated activists have still been keeping up a presence at the Whipple Building, which is where people are detained before being transferred out of Minnesota.

Second, I'm a little concerned that your breast apparently refuses to tell accurate time. You reported a 9 o'clock cyst and it turned out to be sitting at 10 o'clock the whole time. Clearly someone needs to reset the boob clock.
And finally, welcome to the future, Bionic Boob. Between the titanium marker and your ability to survive needle attacks, you're now at least 12% cyborg. If airport security starts saluting you, don't say we weren't warned.

I have to get a bit defensive - I wasn’t the one who reported it as being at 9 o’clock; that was what the previous radiologist had noted in her report after doing an ultrasound.
Second radiologist was searching for so long that I was starting to think that I might get sent home without a biopsy.
