When I was a young woman, there were many blond jokes being bandied about. They worked on the premise of blonds being dumb. A co-worker (a fellow blond) and I loved them since we knew that blonds weren't really dumb.
"What do you call a brunette who dyes her hair blond?"
"Artificial intelligence"
And that is what I think of AI.
Good joke - citizen will be using it!
As much as I love movies and trivia....I will not go and see it. I support art and people who create it, An Artificial Intelligence that created something seems to defeat the purpose of supporting the artist.
It seems cinema-goers here agree with your position.
Sure, you know me and movies: I'll watch it when I find it. π
As for AI...
It has its uses and advantages. I can see it helping with quick business replies to emails and such or helping out with correspondence of a mundane nature, but it will NEVER replace human talent. π
I might be impressed when AI can understand and employ correctly the subtle elements of speech such as homonyms, context, idioms, dialect, slang and humour.
However, AI will NEVER figure out satire, sarcasm, commas for effect... or pauses.
Have you ever used 'gram-marly'?
FFS, it can correct spelling, but it HATES anything but trivial punctuation... and I'm fine with watching it continue to be boring. There will never be doubts about when a creative human wrote something versus a dull blurt spun out of an AI bot.
At least for those who know, care, and can tell the difference. π€
And let's face it, AI will NEVER know anything about emojis or which one and where to put those things. Lol... ππ
I'm safe... for now.
I've heard of Grammarly but never used it. I've prided myself on grammar without realising I'm perfect. It's Google Translate I'm most impressed with - I don't know whether AI is involved but one now has to suspect AI is involved with almost everything that's digital.
@spunkycumfun
I've used that translation app (it uses AI), and it does a great job β at least in the languages I've used it with. Even though my French is good, I'll occasionally plug something in there to see if I'm on point, and 'translate' confirms that I am. π
@hippiechick1967
I wasn't going to bring it up. ππ²
@Paulxx001 @spunkycumfun I love google translate but it has one major flaw ... it doesn't know Latin!
@hippiechick1967 @Paulxx001
What was my grammatical error so I can correct it? I never said I was grammar-perfect!
@superbjversion2 I'm surprised it doesn't do Latin but it does Esperanto though.
@spunkycumfun
This is how Grammarly would have written things.

I agree with Grammarly. Lol... ππ²
@Paulxx001 I've now corrected my deliberate mistake!
I think your dad is right yeeeees it's like bull wants sex Al will destroy the mankind... everyday Analysis And anchor talking about it but come on we'll see it in our systems jobs soon in technology it's fact let's face it..but I'm with you we'll lose more and more
AI is already taking over from humans in doing some jobs.
@spunkycumfun this is the dangerous future
@Alfedofernanz200 And governments are doing very little to regulate AI developments.
@spunkycumfun exactly we need more regulations and laws to keep it good
AI, if used correctly, can be beneficial for some, but as AI advances, more jobs will be lost. The current iteration we see is as bad as the technology gets and it will only get better. The question is, will humans be smart enough to keep AI in check? My answer to that question is, probably not.
Unfortunately I agree with your answer. This is the time to introduce a basic income where everyone (at least in rich Western countries) receive an income regardless whether they've got a job or not.
@spunkycumfun
Thatβs the platform Andrew Yang ran on in the 2020 election.
@JN63JPN I say vote Andrew. But there's no votes in court cases!
I might go just out of curiosity. Much more likely would be watching it when it gets on a streaming service I already have.
I think most people's BIGGEST concern is that AI will figure out the best way for Earth to survive is to eliminate the human race. That surely was mine - until yesterday - when I read about bioterrorist using AI to engineer various bugs.
AI is no doubt already being used to kill people.
I don't think I would see this movie, as it's not my
kind of movie.
As for AI this is a terrible thing and it's going to
cause so many issues in lots of areas. The
only thing I have seen AI to be useful is in
the Medical World it helps detect things on
scams that normally would not be detected
which can save lives.
I hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend..
I've heard that AI is being usefully used to detect cancer.
I agree that AI will see the rich get richer. The problem will be when the AI spits out garbage and how that gets cleaned. In one case, Air Canada was found liable in court when its AI chatbot gave wrong information about bereavement fares.
This inspired me to try my Amazon Echo dot and it did not disappoint. I asked what kind of food I can feed to my Echo. Here is the response "THe Echo Dot is a voice activated digital assistant that can be used to fulfill various tasks around the house. (OK so far). It is designed to be used with food that is not harmful to pets. Some foods that can be fed to the Echo Dot include day old food, coke, tortillas and water. However, it is important to note that the Echo Dot is not a substitute for professional pet care and should not be fed any food that could be harmful to pets".
Does anyone know where I can find some day old tortillas ??
There is a prominent AI skeptic I followed named Gary Marcus. He always has stories like this.
I just read a very timely story about Macdonalds cancelling its trial of AI at their drive through windows. The AI thought a customer wanted bacon with their ice cream. And, another thought the customer ordered 240, then 250, then 260 chicken mcnuggets.
Now, bacon is tasty, but could it work on ice cream. Maybe the AI knows something
AI seems to be denying human agency.
I read about the McDonald's not-so-successful dip into the AI world. But that attempt seemed to be about an attempt at doing away with human jobs. Without jobs, humans can't pay the rent or pay for food to put on the table. Of course, the owners and controllers of AI will live in palaces and have banquets.
More concerned about lack of intelligence. Know all about the cows and bulls and the technology in said industry. If the screenwriter were here he would be hindered from posting. I am suspending blogging at level 9.7 having over 12,000 posts and 32,000 images.
A lack of intelligence, whether human or artificial, is worrying.
A screenwriter would be hindered here if s/he wanted use images without confirming their ID!
@spunkycumfun absolutely
I probably wouldn't go see it - more because I see very few movies in the theater so it has to be something that's a critic's darling or a big film event (like Barbenheimer).
As you know, I have many concerns about AI as well. The only silver lining I can think of would be if AI came up with solutions to climate change that we humans haven't been able to.
I know AI is being used in climate change research. It's not as if human intelligence is sufficient regarding this existential problem.
@spunkycumfun I think itβs the will and initiative to actually tackle the problem that is lackingβ¦.
@smartasswoman My initial reply to you was denied. I was just saying that scientists have largely done their job and now politicians have to do their job regarding climate change.
It almost seems that Tier 1 reviewers are climate change deniers!
