Hot finger foods being served:
In THE BATTLE OF THE RICE, jasmine rice won, with brown, wild and basmati rice coming next in the poll.
It's now the turn of hot finger foods. There will be another poll about cold finger foods. This poll is only about hot finger foods or at least warmed-up finger foods. However, there are a few finger foods, such as quiches, sausage rolls and sausages, which can be served up as hot or cold finger foods. In these cases, such finger foods are included in both polls.
For both this poll on hot finger foods and a subsequent poll on cold finger foods, I'm excluding sweet finger foods.
Even just focusing on savoury foods, there are a lot of foods that can be included. Any hot food can be fingered! In many South Asian countries, food is often eaten with fingers rather than with chopsticks or cutlery. But this poll is compiled with Westerners in mind, those people living in Europe and North America. Polls are cultured in their compilation.
But having said that there's a transatlantic difference over what pigs in blankets mean. In America, pigs in blankets are sausages wrapped in pastry; but here in Britain, pigs in blankets are sausages wrapped in bacon. But for the purposes of this poll, I'll go with the American version of pigs in blankets; America is a superpower and Britain is a post-Brexit wannabe-cum-nobody. Even the humble English pig in a blanket isn't safe from American takeover!
I like most finger foods; a finger food buffet usually means choice of loading your plate with what you like. My favourite hot finger foods are beef ends, chicken goujons, chicken skewers, chips, corn-on-the-cobs, crispy battered prawns, fried halloumi cheese, loaded potato skins, nachos, onion bhajis, pulled pork, quiches, samosas, spring/pancake rolls and stuffed mushrooms, with vol-au-vents being my most favourite hot finger food. Who can resist a mushroom vol-au-vent?!

However, my go-to hot finger food in the Netherlands are Bitterballen - see photo below. They are meat-based croquette-style snacks which are delicious when dipped in a mild mustard. Bitterballen are commonly served up in Dutch bars.
My least favourite hot finger foods are chicken nuggets, hot dogs and stuffed peppers, with chicken wings being my least favourite hot finger food. I like chicken but there's hardly any chicken to eat on a chicken wing!
What are your most and least favourite hot finger foods?
What hot finger foods do you serve up when hosting a social event?
Probably everyone here knows I used to host sex parties for swinging couples with my then partner. How I miss those parties! At our parties, we always served up a hot finger buffet. The buffet was never meant as a meal but more as a way of couples taking communion in the kitchen before having sex elsewhere in the house. Very rarely did sex take place in the kitchen; the kitchen was a refuge for those not having sex!
At the parties, our finger food buffet, always bought from Iceland, included chicken goujons, crispy battered prawns, loaded potato skins, mini-burgers, mini-pizzas, mini-quiches, samosas and vol-au-vents. What else does a swinger need to eat?!
Below is a poll where you can anonymously select your most favourite hot finger food. Unfortunately only one pick is allowed in the poll.
A poll on this site can only have 20 answer options. Unfortunately there was no room in the poll for: beef ends, Bitterballen, bruschetta/crostini, buffalo cauliflower wings, cheese/cheesy bites, cheese on toast (including Welsh rarebit), cheese tartlets, crab cakes, crispy battered prawns/shrimps, crispy savoury pancakes, croquettes, dim sums, dough balls, dumplings (eg wontons), fish goujons (including fish fingers), fried halloumi cheese, jacket potatoes, kebabs/kabobs (including koftas), meatballs, mushroom tartlets, mussels, onion fritters (including onion bhajis), oysters, paella arancini bites, papadams, patties, potato wedges, pulled pork, salmon bites, samosas, sausage rolls, sausages (including British-style pigs in blankets), spring/pancake rolls, stuffed peppers, stuffed tomatoes and tempura.
I think pizzas will win the poll, but chicken wings, loaded potato skins and tacos may also do well in the poll. Chicken is going to do well whether it's chicken goujons, nuggets, skewers or wings.
This is the first time in compiling polls on different foods and drinks that I didn't do any systematic internet research. After briefly searching for popular finger foods or canapés, I just came across a lot of fancy and probably not very popular foods, so I gave up and relied on my instincts instead, plus @EnigmaInitiative's advice gratefully received.
Please see the comment below to see what has won each battle of the food and drinks so far.
STOP PRESS. As a result of late voting breaking the deadlock between blueberry, cherry, strawberry, unflavoured and vanilla yogurt, I can now declare that vanilla yogurt is the outright winner of THE BATTLE OF THE YOGURTS poll. And as a result of some very late voting ketchup is no longer sharing top spot with barbecue sauce and is the sole winner of the THE BATTLE OF THE CONDIMENTS poll.
