I voted chai, but I drink a lot more coffee than chai. I like my chai fairly heavily sweetened so it's best left for an occasional treat rather than an everyday thing.
I've never had chai. For some reason, it's rarely served up in Indian restaurants here.
@SiteSupport This post was submitted yesterday to be scheduled for release at 2pm (UK time) today. It seems to have disappeared from view. I hope it can be approved as soon as possible. Many thanks.
These past few days the night approval crew seems to have been running behind on okaying posts and comments.
@justskin1 I get that impression too.
I most often drink hot milk - either malted (can't find Horlicks locally anymore so will do with Hemo or Ovaltine), thickened with salep, or sweetened with honey.
I rarely drink coffee, and herbal teas only when sick and in bed.
Recently I have learned how to make tripe soup and the broth part of it is very fortifying when down with a cold or flu, to sip as a hot beverage, spiced with a smear of gochujang paste and lemon juice.
I'm not sure I could drink tripe soup even if it would make me feel better.
@spunkycumfun Well the secret is that I am really sick - taste buds out of order and no olfactory abilities either. I also can't produce saliva so I really can only ingest liquids during the worst of it and this soup provides much needed protein. The hot pepper to heat up my insides and the acid to counteract the lipids. It goes down rather easily.
@missthee I'll take your word for it.
My fav hot beverage is hot chocolate. I drink an excessive amount of tea, however it is all cold.
I love a hot chocolate on a cold winter's day.
coffee, strong and black
I like my coffee strong too but I add a bit milk to it.
While I do drink coffee everyday at work, I do appreciate a nice cup of hot masala chai. There’s a bakery that serves a really good chai.
I've never had chai. I don't see it around where I live.
@spunkycumfun
There’s boba tea but not chai? 🤔
@JN63JPN From what I see around, yes.
Neither coffee or tea for me. I'm not really for hot drinks, except a hot chocolate or two each winter. It has to be freezing out for the hot chocolate
A hot chocolate on a cold winter's day is divine.
Hot apple cider
A couple of people have mentioned hot cider. I've never tried it. Thanks for stopping by.
coffee...
hot, black, wet, and strong.....
I love strong coffee too, though I have to add milk.
Thanks for stopping by.
Coffee. Black. Usually with a little sugar, sometimes without. I drink too much coffee. Not in a day, but i tend to not be too pleasant when i go without, which i try.
Hot honey and lemon is a close second
I drink a lot of coffee, at least eight mugs a day.
@spunkycumfun Yikes! That's really too much. Eaaaasy fella...
@partygald I've ben drinking that much for decades. I think my body is used to it now.
I voted for coffee and I like mine black. I also am not a fan of dark roast coffee and think Starbuck's coffee is terrible. If I want coffee that tastes burnt I can let my coffee sit on the warmer for two or three hours and pay a lot less for it. I admit that sometimes I love a spot of tea, black of course and my favorite is Mrs Earl Grey.
I too think Starbuck's coffee is horrible even though there's Starbucks everywhere here.
@spunkycumfun I have no idea why so many people think their burnt coffee tastes good. Then there is the fact that most people seem to need to have them put all kinds of flavored syrups and creamers in it to be drinkable.
@justskin1 Adding syrups in coffee needs to be banned!
I voted for Hot Chocolate as that's the only hot beverage I can drink. Thanks for another great battle here.
I hope your Friday is a fun one and you have a wonderful weekend as well..
Hot chocolate is a great hot beverage.
To me coffee, dark and with sugar and a cloud of milk
I thought you would sneak in a shot of Baileys into your coffee!
@spunkycumfun Of course!!!
@AuraAviatik6 I have to say that if I feel the need to sweeten my coffee I would have to use a shot or more of Baileys.
I am still drinking regular coffee - what you're calling "Americano". But I gotta tell ya, between prices driven up by climate change, and now tariffs, I might need to take a page from the Civil War southerners and learn to tolerate Chicory coffee!
Those tariffs are going to hit coffee (and tea) drinkers hard.
I like my men hot and my drinks cold. I will, on very rare occasions, have some warmed cider.
Just do you know, in the US, cider is a non-fermented drink.
I've never come across hot cider. I'm not a big cider fan.
I am not a fan of cider. Mainly as I find it too sweet. I also understand that before Prohibition cider was a very popular drink, mainly fermented but also unfermented. I have come to understand with Prohibition many of the cider apple trees were cut down and so a great range of ciders disappeared. Especially the not so sweet ones.
@justskin1 I went to a Cider 101 program at the library last fall and learned a lot. Technically cider IS fermented, otherwise it's just apple juice. There is an upsurge of cideries in my area. They use a variety of apples.
@superbjversion2 From what I had read there were a lot of apple varieties that were used mainly for cider and not for general eating. A lot of those were cut down. I have no idea if very many of those varieties were saved. I hope they were. I am not a fan of apple juice as I find it to be too sweet with not enough flavor to temper that sweetness. I admit to not having much experience with different ciders.
