Prince Albert was Queen Victoria's husband for 21 years until his death in 1861. Though first cousins, the British Queen married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in 1840, and they had nine children during their marriage.
Despite the urban myth, there's no evidence that a Prince Albert genital piercing is named because Queen Victoria's husband had such a piercing. Prince Alberts seemed to be done well after Prince Albert had died. From what I've gathered, and it's not much, is that Prince Alberts became popular in the early 1970s' Californian gay scene.
But I'm intrigued about a Prince Albert piercing. Does it hurt being done? Are there any hygiene issues with a Prince Albert? And is it safe to have penetrative sex with a Prince Albert?

A Prince Albert doesn't appeal to me at all. No piercings on me appeal, though I must confess that nipple and clit rings on a woman turn me on. But denim and anklets do too!

I say this with all due respect and purely as a personal preference: I'm 'not fond' of piercings: either on myself or on those I might be intimate with. Genital piercings, in particular, are an absolute deal-breaker for me
