I use to be addicted to soda.....I would drink practically any kind of soda. What I learned was I wasn't hooked on any of the flavors. For me it was the fizz. I guess it was about enjoying it with a meal and afterwards, I would belch whatever I ate. The soda fizz was what made it happen.
The belching was part of the process but I didn't enjoy what they put into the drink. All the sugars and it's addictive qualities. I ended up moving away from the soda pop and moved to the seltzer water.
What a difference that was for me. To this day I have not had a soda in almost ten years. I drink seltzer water as often as I can. I do have an occasional beer when dining out. My other choice of beverage is pineapple juice or a Steigl Radler Beer, grapefruit flavor preferably.
Here we call seltzer water carbonated or even soda water. It's usually used as a mixer.
All full of poison called sugar. Thats why everyone in this country is sick. You people keep the big pharma in business. Drink water
I'm blocking you now.
@spunkycumfun wa wa wa wa
Arnold Palmer !/2 lemonade and 1/2 iced tea
I've never had an Arnold Palmer. Thanks for stopping by.
Diet soda, or diet caffeine-free
Though I should drink diet, I like sugar too much! Thanks for stopping by.
@spunkycumfun I was pre-diabetic in the early 2000s, so I switched from non-fat to sugar-free. I completely stopped drinking soda which has sugar/sweetener in it, and add sugar-free creamer and sugar substitutes to my coffee, and that worked for 20 years... Now I have to cut back on sweeteners due to the insulin response to sweet foods.
@hotttswingers I'm glad you've got your diabetes under control.
Propel (which I did not see falling under the water category you had posted
Unfortunately I couldn't find room for flavoured water in my poll. My apologies.
I use to love drinking Raspberry Ice Tea Until I started to drink Proel water
beer is okay in summer
I like beer all year round. Thanks for stopping by.
While I love cherry coke and root beer, my favorite soda with sugar that's readily available anywhere in Japan would be ginger ale. Otherwise, I normally drink fizzy water or iced tea.
Yakult is in the list but not ginger ale? 🤔
Ginger ale was on my list but I dropped it. I wasn't aware at the time how popular ginger ale is. It's not big here and only drunk as a mixer usually with whisky.
Going with Ginger Ale, it's been my favorite forever!
I've never been able to tell the difference between the colas... if you put them all in front of me, I couldn't tell you which was which and therefore, no preference. They all make great mixers!
Ginger ale seems popular in America and I didn't even put it in the poll.
I drink cold tea all day. A mix of green and black tea with stevia extract. I also drink a lot of water.
I like my tea hot, even boiling hot!
What I really in cola is RC and none cola is Vess orange. I grew up on those to.
I've not come across RC.
Starbucks bottled vanilla Frappuccino!!!
I've never tried that. I prefer my coffee hot though.
I voted for my Cherry Pepsi, but I have to say a good cold Strawberry Lemonade for me is right up there. I can't wait to see which cold beverage wins this battle..
I hope you enjoy a thrilling Thursday my friend..
Iced tea and water so far are doing well in the poll.
Wasn't sure how to vote in this one. My favorite cola is Diet Coke but I often have a root bear or Dr Pepper when at a fast food place. At home I rarely drink soda and of late never the three I mentioned above. It is mostly either Orange juice or grape juice. Of the juices, I avoid both apple and grapefruit. Apple seems way too sweet and bland and my stomach does not get along with grapefruit. Also any kind of milk is out. Persnickety aren't I.
Have yourself a great day and rest of the week.
I've never had a root beer. we just don't it here, or at least where I'm looking.
@spunkycumfun I am surprised it is hard to come by in the UK. Am not sure why it is such a very American drink.
May you soon find some and have a taste.
@justskin1 I'm sure I could find it if I looked hard enough but it's not stocked in supermarkets or served up in cafes and pubs.
By leaving non-alcoholic drinks off the list, you've left me with no options!

The truth is, I don’t drink any soft drinks: only water… when I’ve had a scare
No, seriously, I don’t drink any non-alcoholic beverages. I sometimes drink plain water, and less often Perrier, but not much. I don’t need a lot of hydration since I sweat very little.
Like you, I'd prefer an alcoholic over a non-alcoholic beverage!
Ginger ale
Ginger ale seems popular here and I didn't even have it in the poll.
I make my own smoothies with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, peanut butter, dark chocloate and sometimes spinach added in. I avoid pre-made, pre-packaged smoothies, but have some at a cafe where it was made fresh. When I was a soda drinker, it was Coke. A few years back, in Quebec, I found some unique soda flavors. They were butter, peanut butter and jelly, pickle and, lastly, ranch dressing. All sound bad, but the ranch dressing seems the least palatable.
Your home-made smoothies sound great though I'm not so sure about the spinach being thrown in.
I had to go with "other" since I did not find ginger ale (or couldn't figure out when it fit in).
As to the colas, I mostly drink Coke, though if I really need to sugar boost, Pepsi gives a better one.
Ginger ale was on my list but I then dropped it as I can only have 20 poll options.
