In some ways, it was liberating and, in other ways, it was restricting. But I knew a lot of the couples at the party so socially if not sexually it was easy for me.
The party was held in a very large and rather grand house. Not many people turned up to the party, probably because not many were invited. But because of the size of the house, it felt quite an empty party, guests just rattled around the house. When I went to clubs, it was rare to see women attending alone. Those who did often looked like they were on a modelling shoot or were part of a group. I felt safer going with a partner, although their behaviour sometimes made me wish I had gone solo. The atmosphere at hotel takeovers was similar to that of the clubs, so I never attended those alone either.
However, house parties had a different vibe, and I felt comfortable going to those by myself since the hosts always kept an eye on single attendees.
I much preferred house parties over clubs - friendlier and far more relaxed.
For me, it's easier on my own, since Hubby is a quiet man. But, I also like him with me for security. He's a big guy.

Generally I only attend sex parties as part of a a couple. I've only gone to a party once as a single male. I guess I just feel like too much of a perv as a single male. Reflecting back on that specific party however it's now a wonder to me that I don't go it alone more often!
The party was organized by a female friend of mine. ). I find it easier to socialise with a partner in tow. Attending as a single male, I'd imagine the situation you have described to be about as much as expected, or as good as expected. I have known and witnessed single males at these parties going through with having as much of a whiff of sex.
Attending as a single female, you'd get most, if not all the attention, and most often, it's unwanted. At least for me. I'd like to take my time to really check out who I'd want to play with. Both sides has it's own challenges. That's why it's a little easier to navigate with someone in tow.
Nearly all the parties I've attended have been couples party. But having just split from my then partner, I was allowed to attend this party as a single male.

I usually went to parties with Cowboy, a GF or a lover and sometimes all three. I wasn't tied to any of them though. I often wandered off to ogle various rooms or events.
