Given today's Half Nekkid Wednesday's theme is November 19 : Things that start with U, V, or W, I want to regale you with a tale of 'my' half-naked experience in Amsterdam's Van Gogh Museum.
Vincent van Gogh's Wheatfield with Crows, painted in 1890, was one of the artist's last paintings before he died after shooting himself. The painting is primarily displayed in the Van Gogh Museum. My then girlfriend and I visited the museum to take in a bit of high culture after overdosing on a lot of low culture found in bars, coffee shops and sex shops.
While admiring van Gogh's Wheatfield with Crows painting, my girlfriend dared me to flash my willy. After looking around and not seeing anyone who could see me flashing, I got my willy out and flashed the painting. The crows were somewhat disturbed and flew off! and then many naked men came along to view the painting making me feel over-dressed!

PS. Seriously, the photo below is of naturists visiting the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations (MuCEM) in Marseille. For one evening every month when the museum is normally closed, it opens its doors to French naturists to admire the art.

What a lovely group of handsome naked ephebes! Wow… the museum should be completely closed that day, police guarding the entrance, just to prevent innocent visitors from dying of shock! And the poor tour guide… I can only imagine! LOL

Naturists visiting the museum were advised to wear shoes because of the risk of getting splintered from its wooden floors.

I’m hoping to get to Amsterdam next summer - a stopover of a few days before I continue on to Nairobi for the start of my safari trip. And I definitely want to visit the Van Gogh museum!
The van Gogh Museum is very good. My favourite art gallery in Amsterdam is the Stedelijk Museum, which has a lot of modern as well as classical art. I'd only go the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam's main art gallery, if you want to see Rembrandt's The Night Watch. Otherwise, I found the museum very dreary.
One little hidden spot slightly off the tourist trail but in the middle of Amsterdam's shopping district, Kalverstraat, is the Begijnhof. It's an oasis of quietness with many old buildings - it was a refuge for French protestants, the Huguenots, escaping persecution in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

I notice the naturists are admiring art depicting naturists.
I was able to see a traveling Immersive Van Gogh exhibit a few years ago. It was marvelous ... even without flashing willies.
A flashing willy would have made that exhibition even better!
