Christmas was especially magical for me when my children were little and still living at home with my husband and me. Those were holidays filled with wonder and imagination. Now it’s different… they no longer believe in Santa Claus, of course, but it’s still a lovely excuse to gather together. These days the gifts are rather improvised, with no lists or anything of the sort. The long lists belonged to the time when the children each wrote several pages of wishes… which Santa Claus would then filter appropriately.
As well as presents, kids make Xmas!
I have to figure out what I want for Xmas so I can send a wish list to the kids.
Now that sounds like an urgent task to do!
I don't really have a list. I just wish I could think of something good for HWD. Jigsaw puzzle was one of my thoughts but then last week he bought three of them at the thrift store! 😖
That tells me a jigsaw puzzle is a good gift for him. Have you come across the jigsaw puzzles of towns and cities. There must be a few of St Paul where you live. In a search, I found this one: (https://fineartamerica.com/featured/st-paul-minnesota-usa-panoramic-images.html?product=puzzle)
I am not a great fan of Christmas nor a Christian but I would quite like a bottle of single malt whiskey if anyone would like to oblige. However it does seem to spread a lot of good will and has even produced a few ceasefires in times of war so on that thought I will grin and bear it.
I hope you get your bottle of single malt whisky for Xmas.
You have really been working out, haven’t you? 😂 I can’t think of a gift I really need. I have been blessed with so much already.
HNW pushes me to work out at least one day of the week!
You look warm and sexy! Very nice Spunky!!
Hugs!!
It was a good job that the central heating was on!
You are really into your countdown to Christmas my friend. No we don't celebrate it any more as it's just too expensive. I did keep some of my Christmas decorations that I can't replace but gave my lighted 6 ft tree to the Salvation Army when we moved back home here. I sure miss my tree, but Scrooge ( aka hubby) says why do we need a tree when it's just the two of us.
I hope your enjoying your hump day..
I need to curb my excitement for Xmas as I sometimes get disappointed on Xmas Day.
A Xmas tree is a 'must' for Xmas!
I am a bit of a Grinch or Scrooge (take your pick) at the holidays. I find the pressure of expectations and the commercialization of Christmas all a bit much. However, as I age, I am learning to be more tolerant. The last couple of years I have focused on giving gifts that are more personal such as framed photos of memories with friends and family over the past year.
I've always loved Xmas though I must admit Xmas was more exciting when Santa Claus laden with presents came down the chimney!
OH SHIT - Christmas is coming soon isn't it. Guess I better get busy!
Happy HN-C.
I'm nearly ready for Xmas!
No list for me. My offspring knows what I want and nobody else buys me anything.
My Xmas present list, bar for the wine, largely gets ignored.
Looking good 😆 🤣 😂 list suits you . On bags a good type one that crosses over and is in front of with no slice strap so can't be stolen or misplaced
I'll follow your advice about shoulder bags.
