This is my contribution to the new virtual symposium's mid-month challenge on 'Red' - see Mid-Month Challenge 12. This is a three-part fantasy novella (with a few autobiographical bits) titled Red Lipstick, coming in at 380 words.
RED LIPSTICK IN THE BLACK FOREST
In the hostel's bar, on the edge of the Black Forest in Germany, he was lost in thought amidst the drunken revelry. He had now tasted freedom, freedom to talk to whoever, and wanted more.
He noticed a woman wearing bright red lipstick intently looking at him. Her gaze rarely leaving the married man. He returned the gaze and she didn't look away. She smiled, they both smiled.
On leaving the bar, he wrote down his bedroom number on his business and and passed it to her as he passed her table.
Within minutes of entering his bedroom, there was a knock on the door. On opening the door, the woman with the red lipstick was standing there. He held her hand and guided her into the bedroom. They kissed and kissed again. They quickly removed each other's clothes ready for a night of passion.
This was their secret.
RED LIPSTICK IN PARIS
On returning home, he wanted more of her. The thoughts of her only confirmed his thoughts of ending his marriage. He wrote to her asking her to meet him in Paris for a weekend, a dirty weekend was what was intended.
They met at the airport. She was still wearing red lipstick. He woke up the next morning with red lipstick on his face and his cock.
The weekend was magical, romantic even and very passionate.
This was now his secret.
RED LIPSTICK IN PORTSMOUTH
A few months later she visited Portsmouth, again resplendent in red lipstick. The man, now with a new girlfriend, was determined to not have sex with her but conned himself that he could see her one evening as a friend without sex.
His girlfriend knew about their Parisian tryst.
The evening together was sexually charged. After going to a nearby bar, he asked her to come back to his home. His resolve was weakening. They had sex.
When his girlfriend came round the next day, she found a wine glass with red lipstick all over the rim of the glass. She knew who had been round the night before!
This was now his very badly kept secret.
