It was only 41F/5C today, just before lunchtime.
The trees near my balcony are past their Autumn peak.
Leaves are drifting down like confetti.
The forecast over the next 2 days is for snow.
Dreariness is knocking on the door.
And yet ...
Despite the downward slide towards winter, I do not feel gloomy.
Because I noticed, tucked among dying leaves, one bravely blooming petunia.
A petunia ignoring what it couldn't control and blooming happily.
It found PSA ... Petunia Stalwart Action
So, here is my winter mantra ...
"BJ, be the Petunia"

Weather's been very mild for November over here, my geraniums are still flowering.
You need to seduce some ladybugs to your garden for those greenflies.

it's difficult to be stalwart and defiant when it's almost 80 degrees (26 celsuis) right now.

I noticed the little rose plant I planted this past spring, that got weed wacked twice, has come back and put out a bud! We'll see if it it actually blossoms or if the upcoming cold snap will put the kibosh on it.
I hope you gave it a little blanket to encourage that bud.

A petunia generally only blooms for 3-4 months. My little one has been going for almost 6 months now.
There's always that one who doesn't read the rules. 🤗💕

We will have an in-between stick stage ... no leaves but not covered in white yet.

It's just happily doing its petunia thing. Check my comment to Hippiechick, it has a pic from 24 hrs later.
Stuff has been hanging on pretty well here, but I suspect that will come to a CRASHING end tomorrow morning.
After 48 hrs, almost all the leaves are gone ... and the petunia blooms on!
@superbjversion2 I've never understood why petunia is sometimes a synonym for weak or soft. They seem darn resilient to me!
